Entering itself is selflessness. Thus, that yogi divides the noble truth of suffering into four aspects. After the noble truth of suffering, the origin arises. The origin is also divided into four aspects, namely: engagement with conditioning itself is the origin, that which is in accordance with the result itself is the cause, and that which arises completely through complete differentiation, and the connection that is not in accordance with the result itself is the condition. Cessation is also divided into four aspects. How does the chief yogi divide it? Namely: the absence of all afflictions itself is cessation, abandoning the fire of afflictions itself is peace, being the chief of all dharmas itself is excellence, and definitely liberating from samsara itself is definite emergence. The chief yogi also divides the path into four aspects, namely: obtaining purification and liberation itself is the path, being non-inverted itself is reason, all noble beings abiding itself is practice, and stopping the afflictions of samsara itself is definite emergence. Thus, I have shown you the sixteen aspects of great yoga, such is warmth. Therefore, when the dharma called "having become warmth" increases, the dharma called "peak" will arise. That yogi who has great faith in the virtuous Three Jewels and the faults of the aggregates, contemplates the superior peak that is different from that. The dharma called "having become the peak" is, in short, like the peak of a mountain. After that, the patience called endurance, which is in accordance with the increase of the chief peak, will arise as the root of virtue. In the case of the three, that truth is endurance itself. Because endurance is not in accordance with the form of the peak, the dharma called "non-accordant endurance" arises. That is, endurance itself arises as the dharma called "endurance." As endurance increases, in one instant the supreme worldly dharma arises, and mind and mental factors arise at that time. Having attained the supreme worldly dharma, one enters the stream, and there I...

is possessed by the body. That is, the people of Yama cannot see them, and they have no fear of them. All those lords are attained through mindfulness, so one should become accustomed to mindfulness. Then, Indra spoke in verse at that time as follows: Knowing the ritual of exhaling and inhaling, knowing the sixteen aspects, knowing the way of becoming warm, being skilled in the way of patience, knowing the supreme Dharma of the world, also knowing that beneath it, those who know the Dharma-nature in sequence do not deviate from the right path. Definitely liberated from the three unions, without the eight fears and terrors, steadfast and without the eight evil destinies, it is definitely called 'stream-enterer.' Definitely abandoning the non-virtuous Dharmas that will definitely lead to evil destinies, entering the stream of liberation, is called 'stream-enterer.' Thus, I have shown you the sixteen aspects of mindfulness of breathing in and breathing out, so take hold of it. Those paths are peaceful, lead to the city of liberation, are without fear, and all noble beings rejoice. Therefore, you should definitely rely on those paths. Thus, the fear of the people of Yama has been sequentially shown to you as the sixteen aspects of mindfulness of breathing in and breathing out. Lords, the seventeen connections related to the intermediate state of existence of gods or humans who are feared and terrified by the people of Yama should be abandoned. What are those intermediate states of existence? They are the forms that appear at the time of death. For example, if someone dies from the human world and is born among the gods, then in the intermediate state, unpleasant signs will be seen, such as very thin and soft white or gray cotton cloths falling down. Immediately, their heart will be very happy, and their face will be bright. After that, they will see pleasant dwellings, pleasant gardens, pleasant lotus ponds, pleasant rivers, and pleasant groves near villages. After that, they will hear very pleasant laughter, play, and songs. After that, they will smell a fragrance never before experienced, pleasing to all beings.
