doing. Those who have obtained and possess the five desirable qualities rejoice, play, and enjoy all kinds of pleasures. Surrounded by goddesses, the gods of various clans produce harmonious and pleasant sounds from the five musical instruments, delighting all the gods, arousing extreme desire, and rejoicing together. They climb from one golden mountain to another, all following the vast and delightful land of joy. When they are so happy, such a thought arises in their minds: We have all become friends with each other, and we are going to hold a celebration in the pleasure garden of Sudharma, the assembly hall of the gods. Then, surrounded by the hosts of gods and goddesses, some ascend into the sky and walk, some ride on swan chariots, some ride on peacock chariots, some enter pavilions covered in the sky, and some enter palaces and enclosures of various shapes, going to Sudharma, the assembly hall of the gods, to see Indra. The sounds of various musical instruments and songs fill all directions, reaching the place where Indra is. Hearing their incomparably beautiful singing, the king of the gods, Indra, said to the gods dwelling in Sudharma: O friends, who are these happy gods? Where do they dwell? Having heard these words, those gods, in order to quickly understand the situation, quickly investigated those gods again, and then said to Indra: Indra, these gods dwell in the heavens of various clans, and they have come here to see the face of Indra. Then, Indra said these words to them: You gods, so full of joy, possessing various musical instruments and music, you gods of various clans, in order to allow you to live happily in the place from which you came, go now to welcome them! After Indra had commanded thus, the gods dwelling in Sudharma, holding various musical instruments and music in their hands

Gathered with garlands of flowers, powders, unguents, necklaces, jewels, and hanging ornaments, with armlets adorned on their arms. With hair tied up and minds swaying. Their bodies adorned with various radiant jewels. By nature, their bodies are purely white. Their bodies illuminated by various jewels, those harmonious gods go to where he is. Those who are exceedingly delighted in their hearts, competing with each other through miraculous powers, reveling in the sounds of cymbals, musical instruments, and various melodies, they go to where the king of the gods, Indra, is, to the place of Indra. Then, the king of the gods, Indra, sits on a lion throne called "Victorious" in a palace with a hundred thousand pillars. Sitting comfortably, blazing with glory, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of gods. He attends to the deeds of those who have done exceedingly well. His glory surpasses a hundred suns. Even having become the king of the gods, he abides in mindfulness. Having seen such a king of the gods, all those gods rejoice tenfold in their hearts, and they speak frankly to Indra, dancing, singing, and laughing. Like this, they praise Indra with verses: Always practicing Dharma, Not afflicted by desires. The gods and the world together, May the divine king Indra always protect. He tames the worlds with Dharma, How could there be non-Dharma? Practicing Dharma is always with bliss, Opposite to that is not with bliss. Practicing Dharma is also with wisdom, Surely relying on it is bliss. Without harming and speaking truthfully, That too is solely bliss. What are the worldly qualities, And what are the qualities beyond the world? All of those without exception, The lord of the Thirty-Three, Indra, possesses. You are the protector from all fears, And the constant refuge from all sufferings. The world with gods, demigods, and humans, That world too is held by you. That is King Indra. You have removed stains and faults, Yourself having removed the three poisons, You go for refuge to the Three Jewels. Knowing the truth of the three karmas and their results, Thoroughly understanding the three enlightenments. Carelessness

Even if born there, they do not covet the heedless. They conquer enemies and seek accomplishments. Indra holds the living beings. Thus, among those gods, Indra, who possesses supreme wisdom, is praised by those like-minded gods. Then, Indra, seeing those gods, praises and teaches them with gentle and kind words, saying: "O gods, you dwell in heedlessness. Among all good things, diligence is a treasure, while heedlessness is meaningless." Then, after the gods praised Indra for a long time, they went to the sky from whence they had come. Just as they had come before, Indra was in front and the gods behind. Then, Indra thought to himself: "Alas, the gods who dwell in heedlessness have not understood the suffering of death. In order to make them generate renunciation, I will definitely manifest an emanation." Then, Indra, through his magical power, showed the gods the emanation of the intermediate state of existence. In the gardens and nearby gardens, hills, and lotus ponds, they enjoyed the necessary things at will, played and sang together, and indulged in pleasures. Those beings with great beauty and radiant light were dying, abandoning power and retinues of goddesses. All power and all good fortune were exhausted, and their faces were haggard. Those beings who were about to be born in hell, their hands were tied behind their backs with ropes, they were always crying, and their faces were wet with tears, surrounded by thick smoke and flames. The messengers of Yama scolded them harshly, and their faces, tormented by extreme hunger and thirst, were driven to extremely terrifying and frightening places. Their bodies were like burnt trees. Extremely frightening people were chasing them, wearing various ugly ornaments. Their bodies and appearances were diverse, and in their hands they held swords, clubs, and ropes. Some were going to the world of the gods, while others were falling.
