因此制止那些天神，不要因为只有我才能做到这件事而让你们高兴。然后制止那些天神后，天王帝释去了他高兴的园林和自己的欢喜园林，在那有床铺的寝室里，许多天神斥责着像云堆一样增长的阿修罗，越是斥责就越增长。见到那样增长后，那些无法忍受的天神又斥责。然后阿修罗更加肥胖和愤怒，极其增长和显着增长。见到那样无法忍受的形貌后，帝释说道：对于这样因愤怒而显着增长的，应该用什么来作为消除其肥胖的对治呢？然后当时帝释说了这样的偈颂：因愤怒而衰败的愤怒，以忍耐胜过愤怒本身。非正法必定以正法胜过，黑暗以光明完全胜过。以真理战胜虚假的言辞，以离间也以禅定战胜。粗暴的言辞以柔和胜过，憎恨以柔和本身胜过。杀生以慈爱胜过，偷盗之心恒常以布施胜过。不如理作意，恒常以如理胜过。无明以智慧胜过，同样黑暗以光明胜过。黑暗一方的自性，将以光明一方胜过。邪恶的欲望不净，以思择和智慧完全胜过。进入邪道的圣道，恒常以八支胜过。懦夫以无畏，仅仅以四者就能战胜。健忘者以正念战胜，无知者以知识本身战胜。贪欲炽盛的人们，以寂静处精进的人们胜过。所有茂盛的园林，以须弥山王胜过。从地而生的所有水，将以大海胜过。所有星宿和星辰，以太阳的光芒完全胜过。不如法同样以如法胜过，贫穷以布施的积聚胜过。虚伪以正直胜过，谎言被真理战胜。

Therefore, restrain those gods, do not be happy that only I can do this. Then, after restraining those gods, the King of Gods, Indra, went to the garden where he was happy and his own delightful garden, and in that bedroom with bedding, many gods rebuked the Asuras who were growing like a cloud. The more they rebuked, the more they grew. Seeing that growth, those unbearable gods rebuked again. Then the Asuras became even fatter and angrier, extremely growing and manifestly growing. Seeing that unbearable form, Indra said: What should be done as an antidote to eliminate the fatness of this one who is manifestly growing with anger? Then at that time, Indra spoke these verses: Anger that is weakened by anger, is overcome by patience itself. Non-dharma is certainly overcome by dharma, darkness is completely overcome by light. Truth overcomes false words, and discord is also overcome by meditation. Harsh words are overcome by gentleness, hatred is overcome by gentleness itself. Killing is overcome by love, and the mind of stealing is always overcome by giving. Not attending properly, is always overcome by attending properly. Ignorance is overcome by wisdom, similarly darkness is overcome by light. The nature of the dark side, will be overcome by the light side. Evil desires are impure, completely overcome by discernment and wisdom. The noble path that enters the wrong path, is always overcome by the eightfold path. Cowards with fearlessness, can only be overcome by the four. Forgetfulness is overcome by mindfulness, ignorance is overcome by knowledge itself. People with intense desire, are overcome by those who strive in secluded places. All the lush gardens, are overcome by Mount Sumeru. All the water that comes from the earth, will be overcome by the ocean. All the planets and stars, are completely overcome by the light of the sun. Non-dharma is similarly overcome by dharma, poverty is overcome by the accumulation of giving. Hypocrisy is overcome by honesty, lies are defeated by truth.

以正胜邪。 寒冷生起以火胜。 口渴以水而得胜。 饥饿同样以秋收胜。 何为有勇气的山中野兽？ 一切皆为狮子所胜。 贪欲极大以知足胜。 恒常以胜利而闻名。 慈悲恒常受赞颂。 无慈悲则不受赞颂。 知识渊博者恒常调柔。 智者如是说。 恶业之邪恶。 尤其摧毁多言之人。 邪说的外道们。 皆为佛陀所胜。 非天为天所胜。 此乃法性之所在。 如帝释天般行事。 一切之中我亦得胜。 下属你们又是谁？ 这些到来又何须多言？ 所有这些床榻。 皆为崇尚佛法者所依。 对于非法精进者。 不应以愚昧之心依止。 之后，当帝释天听到这些话语时，那些越是诋毁就越是增长的非天们，被这真实之语击中，不再增长，力量、容貌和勇气都减弱了。 看到那些低劣的众生，帝释天的侍从们抓住那些低劣众生的脚，将他们从喜悦的园林中驱逐出去。 帝释天心中极其欢喜，骑着大象地护之子，前往悬挂宝珠的天人们的住所。被完成事业的天众们团团围绕，满足并具备一切无与伦比的天界欲望，之后又前往那些天人之处。 居住在悬挂宝珠之地的天人们，与帝释天相遇后，显现赞颂。 又一同前往一切云彩的园林。 如是，帝释天前方的引导者们，心中极其满足，具备一切欲望，在园林附近高低适宜的土地上，在各处精心布置、堆积众多鲜花的地方， 在装饰华丽的园林中，因花朵的垂坠而显得美丽的悬挂花朵的房屋里，在一切极其喜悦之处享受快乐。

Victory over falsehood is achieved through truth. When cold arises, it is overcome by fire. Thirst is completely overcome by water. Hunger is similarly overcome by the harvest. Which wild animal in the mountains possesses courage? All are completely overcome by the lion. Great desire is overcome by contentment. It is always renowned for its victory. Compassion is always praised. Without compassion, there is no praise. Those with great knowledge are always gentle. Such individuals are spoken of by the wise. The wickedness of evil deeds. Especially destroys those who speak excessively. The heretics who speak wrongly. Are all completely overcome by the Buddha. The Asuras are overcome by the Devas. This is the nature of Dharma. One acts like Indra. Among all, I am also victorious. Who are you, the subordinates? What need is there to speak of their arrival? All these resting places. Are relied upon by those who uphold the Dharma. Those who strive for what is not Dharma. Should not be relied upon with a foolish mind. Then, when Indra heard those words, those Asuras who grew stronger the more they were reviled, were struck by this truthful speech and did not grow, and their strength, appearance, and courage diminished. Seeing those inferior beings, Indra's attendants seized the feet of those inferior beings and expelled them from the Joyful Grove. Indra, with a greatly rejoiced mind, mounted the elephant, the son of Earth Protector, and went to the place where the gods with hanging jewels resided. Surrounded by all the hosts of gods who had accomplished their tasks, fulfilling and possessing all the incomparable desires of the gods, he then went again to the presence of those gods. The gods residing in the land of hanging jewels, having met Indra, manifested praise. And together they went to the grove of all clouds. Thus, the guides in front of Indra, with minds greatly satisfied and possessing all desires, on the land near the grove, which was appropriately high and low, in places meticulously arranged and piled with many flowers, in the splendidly decorated grove, in the delightful houses with hanging flowers, beautiful because of the weight of the hanging flower bushes, they rejoiced in all exceedingly joyful places.
