Such actions should be completely abandoned. Thus, those noble beings who are like pure gold in every way, upon separating from their bodies, will be reborn in the happy realms, in the world of the Thirty-Three Gods, among the gods, in the place of the twin Sala trees. Having been born there, they will enjoy the fruits of their well-done deeds. Their well-done deeds are immaculate, and they are worshipped by all virtuous beings. They will surely experience the results of their well-done deeds and enjoy the fruits of being born as gods, like this: that god will emit his own light, and his light will increase in the manner that people count time, by days, weeks, and months. So, by what cause does that light illuminate the gods without day or night with its own light? That is how the light of the gods increases. Other gods will also think, 'The light of this newly born god is better than the light of all the gods born in other places.' Therefore, they will feel very ashamed in front of the goddesses. Then, the gods went to Indra and asked, 'O Indra, there is a newly born god, and his light has overwhelmed all of us.' Then, Indra spoke in verses at that time: 'This golden Mount Meru, what is that chain of light? This light comes from discipline, not even a sixteenth of it can be reached. When discipline is constantly burning, gold is like pure gold. He is fully endowed with his own karma, and will adorn the Thirty-Three. Inferior, middling, and superior, the fruits of these three kinds of discipline are also three kinds, seen as inferior, middling, and supreme. The discipline that abandons carelessness is increased by diligence. That is always seen as giving happiness, this is where Dharma nature abides. The stainless light that comes from the discipline of sentient beings, what is it? That cannot be overcome even by the light of a thousand suns gathered together. Whoever protects the seven kinds of joyful discipline, and the noble person spoken of by the Buddha? That person will enjoy the fruits of karma. The well-done deeds of sentient beings are here.'

Effort is not exhausted. Likewise, for deeds not done, There is no seeing of coming, nor is there destruction. Children are not attached to causes, But they are attached to the ripening of results. Just as there is no oil in sand, Without a cause, there is no fruit. One who is without miserliness and virtuous, Is one who practices virtue. Whoever is of the nature of sin, is ignorant, That one always engages in anger. Thus, Indra declared to the gods that the fruits of well-done deeds are not exhausted. Then, the gods, taking Indra's words upon their heads, went again to the place of the pair of Sal trees. Having arrived, they rejoice together with the retinue of gods and goddesses. Enjoying various delights, following the sounds of various musical instruments, they go to the place of those two Sal trees. Those two Sal trees, with their size, color, flowers, and light, surpass all the gardens belonging to the Thirty-three (त्रयस्त्रिंश, trayastriṃśa, Thirty-three) and the nearby groves. Those two Sal trees also have nets hanging with the sound of bells and chimes, and the leaves also make sounds like the five musical instruments. Having heard the sound of the leaves, in order to abide in joy again, they go to the place of those two Sal trees. Then, having approached closely, those gods climb those two Sal trees. On top of those two Sal trees, there is also a lotus pond called "Great Joy," where swans, ruddy shelducks, and geese make melodious sounds, and it is always filled with water possessing eight qualities. Having climbed there, the gods think thus: Apart from these two Sal trees, there is no lotus pond on top of any tree, which is very wonderful. Alas! These two Sal trees, apart from the gathering place of trees, are the most important among all trees, and are delightful in every way. Then, having realized that, on top of those two trees, the gods, together with the retinue of goddesses, enjoy the pleasure of closeness, and rejoice, play, and enjoy with various worldly pleasures. They enjoy happiness there for a long time.
