Pa. Uncommon, not diminished by the power of others, and free from harm will be accomplished. Thus, those gods who dwell in various kinds of blissful intoxication, possessing their own light and surrounded by many goddesses, will be born in those places. As long as the karma of desirable and pleasing desires that have been done and accumulated has not been exhausted, they will play and enjoy themselves, experiencing happiness. Afterwards, they will die from that extremely delightful realm of the gods, and after death, they will be born among sentient beings in hells, among pretas, and among animals, just as karma leads them. If they share a common destiny with humans and are born among humans, then in accordance with that karma, they will always be happy from the time of their birth. In a good country that is fertile, in accordance with the Dharma, and possessing right view, they will be born as a king or a great minister. It is seen that a holy person will not encounter evil friends. Then, again, O Bhikshu, knowing the ripening of the fruits of karma, he contemplates the realm of the gods of the Thirty-Three. Through the wisdom arising from hearing, he sees how the abode of the gods of the Thirty-Three, called the Twin Sala Trees, exists. There, thinking about which beings will be born there due to what karma, he investigates with the wisdom arising from hearing. Those who have entered into right view, who are endowed with morality, and who, desiring to benefit sentient beings, are always endowed with morality, and who have entered into right bodily and verbal conduct, think, "I must not let these thirsty beings in the wilderness perish." They also cultivate their minds in this way, cultivating the mind, digging canals, diverting water, and building ponds and reservoirs in the foothills and wilderness, drawing water from the great rivers. For those creatures who have lost their way, and those who have entered the wilderness after losing their way, who have become pale with fear, for those who have lost their way and entered the great wilderness, they show the way and liberate them from great afflictions, but they do not make a living from this, but only engage in it for the benefit of sentient beings.

It is like this, those are giving and saving lives. So, how is it considered abandoning killing and taking what is not given? Here, those themselves or others, thinking in accordance with this, practice the limits of virtuous deeds. Thus, even if there is a cause to kill beings, they do not kill, for example: small or large creatures born from heat and moisture in the house, or born from the womb, those that destroy the things of the house, or similarly, falling on the sleeping place and startling people, but if they want to benefit beings, they will not kill. Frogs and scorpions are also not killed. Even if life is on the verge of ending, they will not kill them, and they will endure even poison. Thus, even if there is a cause to kill them, they will not harm beings, but protect them, those are abandoning killing. So, how is it considered abandoning taking what is not given? How many ways are there? Thus, practicing the limits of virtuous deeds, even if they become the leader entering the nomadic monastery, they will protect the things that merchants mix water and black salt together for business, even if they suffer from thirst and life is on the verge of ending, they will not drink those waters until the merchants have sold them. When the merchants sell, they will drink those waters and give them to others to drink. Thus, even if they have power, they will not take without paying. This is also abandoning taking what is not given. Seeing the fruits of karma as extremely subtle, constantly following the Buddha and the Dharma, focusing on remembering their qualities, using the mind to cultivate the mind, they do not rely on evil friends even for a moment. They do not speak any idle gossip, nor do they walk with them. Because, the main factor that hinders all virtuous dharmas is this, for example, associating with evil friends. They do not talk to them, do not come and go with them, and do not even meet their shadows. Why? Because, the root of desire, hatred, and ignorance is the evil friend, the poisonous tree.
