Moreover, this remnant of the fruit is like today's fruit. Then, the king of the gods, Indra, went to the great garden called the Garden of Pavilions, to the place where the Blessed One was residing. There, four hundred thousand pavilions surrounded it, made of the seven precious jewels, namely: Andanila, diamond, agate, coral, and lapis lazuli. It was surrounded by various kinds of cities, and various kinds of banners and flags were erected, surrounded by various kinds of fine red banners, and the entire garden was beautiful as if it were being drummed upon. Among those pavilions, the pavilion of the All-Knowing One was so beautiful. Just as in Jambudvipa, in summer or autumn when the sky is without clouds, the light of the sun and moon overwhelms the light of all the stars, and it is beautiful in the center, so too, the light of those pavilions overwhelmed everything, and the pavilion of the Blessed One was especially beautiful. There, such light repeatedly arose, and no god other than Indra alone could look at that burning light of the pavilion for a long time. For example, just as the people of Jambudvipa cannot look at the sun for a long time at noon on a very hot summer day, so too is this pavilion. Then, Indra went to that pavilion, and upon arriving, said to the gods: Gods, look at the light of the pavilion, you have seen the king of the gods. In this way, the Blessed One, the unsurpassed tamer of beings, whose disciples are free from doubt, who have seen the truth, who are liberated from both extremes, who possess the six superknowledges, and who have cultivated the four legs of miraculous power, along with four hundred thousand others, has come to this garden and immeasurable palace for the benefit and happiness of the gods, to subdue the intoxicated elephant. He stayed here for four months of summer, teaching the Dharma to the gods of the Thirty-Three, namely: This is form. This is the arising of form. This is

Cessation of form. This is the path to the cessation of form. Similarly, for feelings, perceptions, and volitions, arising, constantly arising faults, are sequentially explained. Thus, that Bhagavan gradually delighted the gods, dwelling in extreme heedlessness, not looking at the suffering of death, only making pride their business, for the benefit and happiness of the gods, explained the Dharma as it is with its own characteristics and common characteristics. Then again, that Bhagavan, in another way, instructed the gods who were dwelling in heedlessness, and spoke these verses: Heedlessness is the root of samsara, and it is also the abode of the gods. Those who are intoxicated by the poison of heedlessness, they sink into the perilous state of existence. Whoever is liberated from heedlessness, that one crosses the ocean of existence. Heedlessness is the root of darkness, it is the maker of the darkness of ignorance. Those who are deluded by darkness, they have no eyes. Thus, the basis of appearance is said to be fire and the sun. Thus, the chief of the deluded ones is universally said to be heedlessness. Burned by the fire of heedlessness, their minds are agitated. By what means do the ignorant children completely go to the hell of beings? The gods are deluded by heedlessness, unstable under the control of women. Forgetting separation and suffering, they desire gathering and happiness. They dwell near great suffering, the end of life is death. The end of happiness is instability and falling. The end of gathering will also become separation. The end of happiness is always falling, the end of youth is old age. All embodied beings are the end of karma, good and non-good are caused by karma. All embodied beings are bound, from the outside they know there is no taste. These different goers, dance like dancers, those bound by the dance of karma, these constantly wander in samsara. Do not trust in the stable one, do not always go to the realm of karma. By all means, like poison, completely abandon heedlessness. Those who are liberated from heedlessness, they cross the ocean of the three realms. Thus, the Bhagavan, the destroyer of samsara, subdued ninety thousand gods, and showed in all the high places the taste of being free from heedlessness, which is the great deed of the gods.
