Rejoicing in the grove, not seeking desire. In the groves, the mind is cultivated, even in the cities it does not waver. Therefore, one should always rely on the grove, the city will not cause harm. The desires of people and so on, are scattered in the cities. The ignorant, unstable, and scattered, return to the grove and dig. Why? Those who are free from sin, should rely on with a detached mind. Therefore, the most peaceful grove, is the great abode of yogis. The mind and senses are completely pacified, the yogi who rejoices in his heart, he will not be more joyful than a thousand Indras. Completely pure in all places, the joy seen by the yogi, those who always follow desire, even those who are free from strife have not seen it. The joy that follows desire, that is always the source of suffering. The joy of subduing afflictions, that is the constant joy. From beginningless samsara, hatred arises in the mind towards enemies, what joy arises after subduing it, how can desire harm it? The joy that arises from desire, accompanied by sin, is the fruit of suffering. Whoever is liberated from desire, that is the most supreme joy. Relying on it, the yogi, will become the most supreme practitioner. The joy created by desire, will not lead to the immortal realm. When enjoying it is sweet and joyful, its fruition is like fire. The joy that arises from desire, always causes sentient beings to fall into hell. When enjoying it is sweet and joyful, in the middle it is also completely joyful, but in the end it is peaceful and stainless, going to the immortal realm. What is good in the beginning, middle, and end, is always as beloved as a mother. After abandoning it, why do foolish children cling to the realm of desire? The middle and end are evil, full of suffering, and are always obscured by clouds of faults. Those who have not seen happiness arise, why do foolish children rely on it? Just like the spike of a poisonous arrow, touching joy will cause burning. Likewise, the joy created by desire, when fully produced is like poison. Just as when fire burns, it will burn and cannot be extinguished, and burning will also kill other things, the joy created by desire is the same. Moths see the flame, but do not see the fault of being burned.

It is called a good place. All the gods who seek desires, what place has not been obtained, they rejoice in the steadfast and cautious. Humans will obtain that place. Thus, when Indra entered the garden to subdue the drunken wanderers, after speaking the verses, he went to that very garden. That garden was purified by the various merits performed by many virtuous, learned, and unlearned beings. The great sage, the Blessed One, before the destroyer of samsara, whatever arose, the ultimate conduct of the good deeds was relied upon by them. Then, the king of the gods, Indra, surrounded by the assembly of gods, joyfully entered with the sounds of various kinds of celestial music. Upon entering, that garden overwhelmed the beauty of all those gardens, and he saw its excellent abode. Just as Mount Meru, the king of mountains, is extremely beautiful among the sixty thousand mountains, so too is this garden extremely beautiful. Just as the lord of the gods, Indra, is extremely beautiful among those gods, so too, in every way, this garden overwhelmed those gardens, overwhelming all the gardens near the Thirty-Three Heavens, appearing beautiful and excellent. Indra, surrounded by all the assemblies of gods, went to the Jambu golden garden, which was surrounded by a net of golden railings and also surrounded by all the golden trees. Then, Indra said to those gods: O gods, behold this perfect garden that overwhelms all ugliness, abides excellently, and is endowed with lotuses, the source of waterfalls, gardens, and many rivers. O gods, seeing this surrounded by all virtues, inseparable from the heart and pure body of that great sage, in accordance with the all-knowing wisdom, the garden of trees and nearby gardens cultivated by the all-knowing wisdom, we are also greatly amazed. In this place, the extreme bliss of the assembly of gods, the incomparable joy, also manifests in many ways, overwhelming. This excellent tamer of men, although he has passed into perfect peace,
