That woman is extremely unpleasant, like poison. She is unhelpful, without lineage, and does not remember great power or merit. The mind has no abiding place; women are like the force of the wind. Wherever there is abundance, women become attached. When poverty arises, they abandon, surely abandoning men. Whichever man they meet, women become attached to him. They quickly, very quickly, abandon him and dwell in discord. Just as bees abandon all flowers when they are dry, so do women abandon men who are poor and without wealth. The heart is unpleasant, like a sword, covered in darkness, without stability. For what reason are women born to destroy men? How women are binding, the gods have no other bonds. Those bound by the bonds of women fall into hell. Whatever desire arises from women, this is the greatest among desires. The desire for women burns the mind, and is like being burned by fire from the outside. People ruined by desire, their actions are also manifest. Those utterly deluded by the desire for women do not understand with their clouded hearts. After being bound to a man's heart and having made many delights, women suddenly abandon him like a snake shedding its skin. Though one strives for women by all means and protects them well in all places, one cannot possess women who are extremely unpleasant. Thus is their nature; the minds of women are unstable. They never trust a man with a stable mind. Then, from the mouth of that lord of the gods, those gods who had heard and done good deeds, having heard the words of Indra, were separated from their intentions and felt sorrow. Having felt sorrow, they spoke this verse: 'Just like that Indra, you have spoken of his nature. We have not understood the mind that has become the rope of women.' Then, Indra, having heard that verse from those gods, in that garden, the sound of birds was beautiful, and the delightful immeasurable palace was adorned with curtains, with the sound of flowing water, rivers, and divine musical instruments, etc.
