Having been born there, by diligently engaging in virtuous deeds, one's own nature becomes great or small according to what one desires in one's mind. Those divine realms are also immaculate due to the seven kinds of precious trees being extremely bright in color and due to one's own virtuous deeds. That garden is twenty leagues in length and ten leagues in width, and is exceedingly full and exceedingly beautiful with rivers, waterfalls, ponds, gardens, nearby gardens, and inner gardens. The trees make this entire garden immaculate and clear, and the branches, leaves, and petals are adorned with various colors and flowers. Some are like the color of pure gold, some are like the color of silver, and others are like the color of beryl. In the leaves, petals, young trees, branches, and small branches of those trees in the garden, the forms of the gods appear clearly as if in a mirror. Just as it appears in one tree, so too do all the branches and limbs appear in hundreds of thousands of trees. The body of the god, being in accordance with the image of karma, appears in hundreds of thousands of trees. Furthermore, another wonder of those trees is that however inferior, middling, or particularly superior the deeds may be, those gods are connected with the ripening of karma. That is, just as the deeds have been done, everything appears in the bark, roots, branches, leaves, and petals of those trees. Then, the king of the gods, Indra, surrounded by hundreds of thousands of gods and goddesses, his entire body adorned with garlands of flowers and ointments, blazing with light surpassing a million suns, proceeds to that garden. Then, those gods who diligently enjoy themselves, having seen Indra coming from afar, with respectful minds go to where the king of the gods, Indra, is. Having gone, they speak frankly to Indra, join their palms at their crowns, make offerings, and with all the reverence in their hearts proceed to where that garden is. Then, they make offerings to the king of the gods, Indra, with all pleasing and beneficial thoughts, the gods

And together with the retinue of goddesses, in order to circumamb and abide in comfort in that garden, having extensively practiced the result of virtuous deeds, they proceed to that Gala garden. It is exceedingly filled with the sounds of various birds. Having gone to that garden adorned with golden trees, those who manifestly accord with karma also directly see the ripening of the Dharma of karma. Then Indra spoke in verses thus: These various trees are manifest through virtuous deeds. Although there are no letters, they are exceedingly harmonious. The wise ones speak of them. By whatever ripening, in whatever place one will be born, people in that very place will obtain virtue or non-virtue. Beings, by virtuous deeds, are always born among the gods. Likewise, by non-virtue, the lowest people fall into hell. Those attached to virtue and non-virtue, those deluded by desire, whatever will necessarily occur, do not comprehend death. Whatever is manifest in the trees, this is the ripening of virtue. Those whose minds are bewildered by happiness cannot separate joy from happiness. Creatures desiring objects, greatly intoxicated by the taste of desire, those embodied beings bound by whatever, are always harmed by nets. Just as the fire of the world arises together with heat, women and unpleasant attachment necessarily arise together. Just as the fire born from women enters the hearts of embodied beings, this fire, wherever it arises from, will not become unheated. All the world is utterly destroyed, and the Dharma is exhausted. The cause of this hell for sentient beings, the sages say, is women. Women speak sweet words from their mouths, but their hearts are like the poison of malice. They do not stay even when they are pleasing. Who would be pleased with them? For a short time they are pleased, and likewise for a short time they are not pleased. Even what is dear to the heart does not stay. They are unstable, like lightning. Skilled in illusion that deceives, they are always devoted to activities, always desiring to be in accord with the mind, always thinking only of pride. Gods and humans, flesh-eaters and, hungry ghosts and rakshasas, those who are bound.
