Protecting from... and not sowing with the fear of killing. Even one's own life is completely given up and not sown, these forms are abstaining from killing. What is the abandonment of taking what is not given, how many forms are there, what are the forms like? Here, one who has taken vows, even for the slightest fault, feels fear, and fears karma and the results of karma, therefore does not do evil deeds. Does not rely on non-virtue. Not engaging in inappropriate actions, such a virtuous person is one who has abandoned taking what is not given. Here, one who has taken vows, even for the slightest fault, feels fear, therefore goes to the temple, or goes to the nearby garden to study, or goes for the sake of water, does not use the war shoes of others that are not given, or made of grass, or of villagers, or made of desire, or made of bamboo. Because of the fear of transgressing the basis of what has been learned, day and night does not steal with a thieving mind. These forms are abstaining from killing and taking what is not given. How to dwell well in morality? Here, abandoning the non-virtuous, the unpleasant, the disagreeable, the unlovable, the sinful dharmas, is the immaculate, possessing abandonment, well-growing, non-deceptive guardian of morality. This morality will surely be reborn in the higher realms, and will ultimately reach nirvana. If desired, the individual true experience of the three bodhi, will ultimately reach nirvana. Noble Dharma Mindfulness, Thirty-fifth fascicle. Furthermore, if here, if one goes as a guest in the forest, or enters a lost path, or goes with companions, or goes without companions, and those who eat raw meat are hungry, due to the power of hunger, see their own newborn children being eaten. Like this, may the raw meat eaters not eat their own children! May those oppressed by hunger not give up their lives! May my flesh satisfy them, thinking like this, going to let them eat, he gives up his own body, is compassionate to sentient beings and is wise...

Giving the lives of sons and daughters is the ultimate entry into discipline. What is the ultimate entry into generosity? Here, one who is poor and lives by hard work, possesses the Dharma, upholds the precepts, and does not generate even a particle of fault, if a monk who has arisen from confinement comes to beg, and he is filled with compassion, he offers the little food prepared for his son and wife to that monk who has arisen from confinement, and he himself does not eat day and night or eats little, and is mindful of the remainder, and also turns others away from killing and taking what is not given. When engaging in the path of virtue, he also rejoices greatly and is exceedingly joyful, and fully engages in that very virtuous deed. Then, he praises it again and again. A person who does good, benefiting both himself and others, after separating from the body, will be born in the good realms, among the gods of the Thirty-Three Heavens, by just a scent, he will be born in the abode of the house of golden virtues. Having been born there, because of the good deeds done, having been born in the abode of the house of golden virtues, he will experience true happiness, he will surely experience the happiness he desires. In that place, there is a house made of gold, adorned with the light of all precious jewels, that cave is light itself. The cave called 'house' is this, and Indra himself comes there and is amazed, and plays a hundredfold. And thus he also spoke in verses: Alas, the virtue done in the past, brings happiness again and again. The cause of having done it in the past and possessing it afterwards, in the heavens, the gods enjoy themselves. Previously, the chariot possessed two horses, and the qualities were likewise two. With the whip of wisdom, the chariot is as bright as the sun. Possessing discipline and possessing compassion, cherishing all beings, benefiting others like a mother, he will go to the abode of the gods. Thus, a person who seeks compassion, delights in benefiting all beings, those who rely on him, will go to the abode of the Thirty-Three. Always gentle and compassionate.
