I shall become delicious, and that is called joyful descent. They will drink those. Likewise, those sons of gods dwelling in the heart of the lotus, all manifestly sing and drink while enjoying happiness and joy. Thus, the bliss dwelling in the folds of the lotus is surrounded by goddesses, and for a long time they drink those delicious wines. Having long enjoyed bliss, they descend from that sky. Thus, the birds and, like this, surrounded together by the assembly of goddesses, will go to the place called the house of the flower Kuvalaya. That house is also made of the flower Kuvalaya, extending a hundred thousand yojanas in all directions, and on each petal various goddesses, endowed with five kinds of musical instruments, sing and dance. If the light of the blue petal of the flower Kuvalaya turns everything blue, and if another petal is red, then the red petal of the flower Kuvalaya, and whatever else is adorned with various colors, will likewise become red by the power of that red. Red utpala flowers, and by the power arising from the roots and the heart, in the stamen, wherever there is a heart, are inhabited by various goddesses who have performed good deeds, surrounded on all sides. On top of those stamen thrones, goddesses hold various lotuses in their hands. Together with the sons of gods, they sing, dance, play, and make merry. There, too, after playing for a long time, they enter the house made of petals. They will see the river called Delightful to Behold, which is extremely pleasing and both banks are surrounded by trees. That river is also extremely pleasing, and such is the joy: like this, both banks are clearly distinguished by various kinds of trees, the colors and leaves are clearly distinguished. Branches and shoots are clearly distinguished in various ways, between the leaves. Birds dwell, with beautiful feathers and beaks, emitting pleasant and melodious sounds. Various delightful birds occupy all the riverbanks.

Thus it appears. Whatever is thought of in the mind, whether food or drink, or even any other slightly pleasing thing, that very thing arises from that river. Then, another sight arises from that extremely delightful river, like this: on both banks are goddesses, possessing various ornaments and forms, holding various kinds of musical instruments in their hands, singing, dancing, playing, and mingling with each other. In this way, there is only what is pleasing, possessing such an aspect of joy, and one enters the river, and the son of the gods, through good deeds, can also see these sights. Then, those daughters of the gods, whose minds are exceedingly joyful, dance, sing, and laugh, and also emit various kinds of musical sounds. Those goddesses, whose minds are exceedingly joyful, also holding the celestial music with five kinds of instruments, go to the place where the son of the gods has arrived through good deeds. That god, seeing those gods and goddesses who are young, beautiful, and adorned, feels very happy. Then, as the desire for joy increases a hundredfold, he runs together with the other goddesses to the place where those goddesses are. Then, those goddesses by the river and those who have come from the lotus flower mingle with each other and emit sounds of mutual delight. All the assemblies of gods fill the tops of the precious mountain peaks with the sounds of celestial music. Hearing such delightful sounds, other gods also play together with the assemblies of goddesses on other peaks. Hearing that sound, they also fill their minds with joy and quickly go to those delightful riverbanks. Those assemblies of gods and goddesses, mingling with each other, are without the weariness of fighting, jealousy, and arrogance. They are friends to each other, without harm, singing and laughing. Others mix and drink sweet wine, and other assemblies of gods and goddesses also partake of nectar. Thus it is.

Those who have long indulged in play, from there again to the riverbank, from there to the fertile land to dwell, those who play and frolic, to that grove near the trees, wherever it may be, they go there. The gods who possess such millions of joys, as long as the lovely and pleasing actions have not been exhausted, they continue to enjoy them. Afterward, they die from the realm of the gods, and after death, as led by karma, they are born into hells, hungry ghosts, and animals. If one in a hundred, due to the karma of truly experiencing, is born among humans, then in accordance with that karma, he will constantly possess happiness and delight in bathing, anointing, and adornment. He will always delight in lotuses, water lilies, red water lilies, and blue lotuses. Upright and possessing an upright nature, delighting in the virtuous and those who possess the Dharma, he will be seen as a king or a great minister, or a householder, or a local leader, or a captain, or the chief of all merchants. Then again, the monk, knowing the ripening of karmic results, contemplates the abode of the Thirty-three Gods. With the wisdom arising from hearing, he sees how the abode of the gods, called the House of Golden Earrings, exists. He wonders: Which beings will be born there? He investigates with the wisdom arising from hearing or with the divine eye, and sees that those virtuous men who are endowed with morality have abandoned killing and taking what is not given. How many kinds of abandonment are there? If someone asks: What is it like? The answer: Protecting the master who kills enemies, or kills sons, or seizes wives on the battlefield, and not even striking. Rescuing enemies who have been captured by others, speaking pleasant words, giving wealth to liberate them. Always doing beneficial deeds. Like this, even the wicked man who enters the battlefield is rescued. Just like before, even if facing death again and again, giving life and not doing unpleasant things. Fearing the karmic results of upholding vows, he throws weapons at the enemy.
