They rejoice and enjoy themselves, and all those who possess and are endowed with the five desirable qualities of the gods, after seeing the top of the banner and the son of the elephant king Protector of the Earth, the gods who play and dwell on the mountain of the Joyful Grove are exceedingly delighted in their hearts, and go to where the king of the gods, Indra, is, and worship the king of the gods by joining their palms at their heads, In front of Indra, with the joy of cymbals, sounds, and various musical instruments, dancing and playing in front of Indra, they go to that great Joyful Grove. The king of the gods, Indra, also descends from the son of the elephant king Protector of the Earth, and together with the assembly of gods, enters that Joyful Grove. All the gods who ride on top, and likewise those who ride on the head, those who ride on the teeth, and those who ride on the ribs, all of them descend from the son of the elephant king Protector of the Earth, and go to that Joyful Grove in order to play, rejoice, and dwell in happiness. Then, those gods who had previously dwelt in the great Joyful Grove, and all those who, together with Indra, had obtained victory in the battle with the Asuras, they who possess and are endowed with the five desirable qualities, enjoy the unparalleled happiness of the four summer months. The king of the gods, Indra, is also surrounded by retinues of gods and goddesses, and they are also surrounded by retinues of gods and goddesses, rejoicing and enjoying themselves to the fullest. While enjoying that unparalleled happiness, as long as the karma done and accumulated at that time has not been exhausted, they rejoice there. Those gods whose karma and lifespan are exhausted will later die from the Joyful Grove of the world of the gods, and after dying, they will be reborn in hells, among the pretas, and among animals, just as karma leads them. If they share a common destiny with humans and are born among humans, then in accordance with that karma, they will always be happy, possessing immaculate artistic wisdom, possessing an exceedingly beautiful form, being exceedingly pleasing to the minds of all beings, and possessing groves, rivers, mountains, ponds, and nearby groves.

will also be born into joy, and there one will see many beings who are happy, powerful, very wealthy, and comfortable. Then, that monk, knowing the ripening of the fruits of karma, contemplates the karma and the ripening of the fruits of the great elephant king, the son of the earth protector. He wonders, 'By what kind of karma did he become so powerful and mighty that he achieved complete victory in the battle between the gods and the non-gods, and by what kind of karma and in what form was he born as an animal?' He infers from the knowledge gained through hearing, concluding: 'In the past, when beings lived to be seventy thousand years old, there arose a great Brahmin who was skilled in the Vedas, the branches of the Vedas, and knew the past and previous lives. He gave alms, performed virtuous deeds, and regularly cared for those who were poor, helpless, blind, and suffering. His mind was very virtuous, benefiting the entire world.' At that time, there was a king named King Good-to-Behold, whose enjoyment was very grand and extremely delightful, like that of the gods and the Tathagata. He had eighty-four thousand elephants covered with golden nets and adorned with nets of tinkling bells, and decorated entirely with golden nets; and eighty-four thousand horses adorned with golden bells that produced the sound of tinkling bells; likewise, he was surrounded and followed by eighty-four thousand women; similarly, he was surrounded by eighty-four thousand cymbals, and he would go to the immeasurable palace called 'Garland of the Near Garden.' The Brahmin observed from all aspects the extremely vast happiness and wealth of King Good-to-Behold, and the Brahmin, with his own very complete wealth, also went to the place where that great king enjoyed himself. The name of that Brahmin was Equal to All Beings. Thereafter, the Brahmin Equal to All Beings was with that king and his wealth, and that king always rode an elephant named Cloud Accumulation, whose body was adorned with nets of tinkling bells and strings of pearls.
