Of the laugher. All senses are diminished, Becoming the cause of meaninglessness. Extremely fond of words, As well as attachment and fear, The faults of speech and arrogance, The root of harsh words is it. The mind completely distracted by alcohol, Not knowing what to do and not to do, That person is no different from livestock. Therefore, abandon alcohol! People distracted by alcohol, Are like the living who are dead. Whoever constantly desires to live, Should always completely abstain from alcohol. Alcohol is the root of all faults, Constantly making all things meaningless. It is the ladder of the three lower realms, A great place of darkness. Alcohol causes beings to go to hell, Likewise to the world of pretas, Those deceived by the faults of alcohol, People go to the animal realms. Among poisons, the poison is alcohol, Likewise hell within hell, Among diseases, the supreme disease, The wise say is alcohol. It diminishes wisdom and senses, It exhausts precious Dharma, Destroying celibacy, The detestable alcohol is the only birthplace. Kings and those skilled in treatises, If they are made light by alcohol, Then ordinary people drinking alcohol, What need is there to say of being deceived? People who rely on alcohol, Are the axe of all dharmas. It is the supreme thing that makes one shameless, It is shown to approach among the despised. The mind stolen by alcohol, What to do and what not to do, Not knowing, completely not knowing, All people do not know. Whoever relies on alcohol, People sometimes feel happy, Sometimes completely suffer, Sometimes commit sins. It creates extremely dull wisdom, It destroys both worlds, For the Dharma of liberation, like fire, The only thing that burns is alcohol. Those who abstain from alcohol, Abide equally in the nature of Dharma, In that place where there is no death, To the supreme place they will go. Those deceived by drinking alcohol, That is a base action. The detestable beings fall into hell, Why suffer completely meaninglessly? When drinking, alcohol is sweet, At the time of ripening, it is extremely bitter. Kimpa ka nang kimpa ka (Tibetan, Devanagari, Romanized Sanskrit, Chinese literal meaning), The wise say is alcohol. I will not be harmed by this, Wise people should not trust alcohol, When tasting, it is cool, but

The ripening is bitter! Alcohol makes one go to hell. Those with scattered minds delight in doing sinful things. Afterwards, the ripening is hot, and evil wisdom is completely burned. Do not place your mind on desires, for desires are the best at deceiving. The bonds of samsara are fierce, the root of all sentient beings' hells. Whoever delights in desires, his suffering is endless. When seized by the serpent of desire, where can there be happiness? You who crave unbearable desires, fierce sentient beings have come to hell. The harm is extremely unbearable, what is being burned meaninglessly? When deceived by desire, you committed sins, why were you not angry then? What is being burned today? What has been done and accumulated is firm, the fruits of karma appear. The feeling of sin is unbearable, therefore do not commit sins. Sin is the ripening of sin, it always ripens in sins. Without committing sin, there is no sin, therefore abandon sin. Having completely abandoned sin, there is no fear of sin. The harm of sin is done by oneself, it will not be used by others. Thus, those Yama's messengers teach those hell beings, teaching them again and again, until their sinful deeds are destroyed, abandoned, and exhausted, they are made to experience various harms. Afterwards, those hell beings are liberated from there, and after liberation, if they are not reborn as pretas and animals because they still have to experience other times of karma, but are reborn as humans with the same fortune as humans, then with the result that is in harmony with that karma, they will become extremely angry and irritable, and will see that they become upset. Then, O Bhikshu, one who knows the ripening of karmic results contemplates the retinue of the Great Howling Hell, but does not fully contemplate the vicinity of the retinue of the Great Howling Hell, nor does he see the ripening of karmic results. He thinks thus: Alas, these sixteen hell retinues, like Samghata, Black Line, and crushing masses, especially in that hell there is harm.
