Rejoice! Then, that monk, having seen the three sentient being hells, contemplates the fourth sentient being hell, called the Howling Hell. He wonders, 'Which sentient beings will be born there?' He investigates with the wisdom arising from hearing and sees that those who have universally practiced, meditated on, and frequently engaged in the four actions of killing, taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, and drinking alcohol, and those who have accumulated, completed, and gathered these actions, will, upon death, fall into the lower realms and be born in the great sentient being hell, the Howling Hell. Among these, the ripening of the fruits of killing, taking what is not given, and sexual misconduct is as previously described. Drinking alcohol in conjunction with alcohol, universally practiced, meditated on, and frequently engaged in, will lead to birth in the sentient being hell, the Howling Hell. If someone leaves the household life, takes vows, tames their mind with the bliss of meditation, and distributes alcohol in the assembly of peaceful monks, causing them to become intoxicated, then upon death, they will fall into the lower realms and experience feelings of great torment in the sentient being hell. There, these harms will occur: for example, into the open mouth of a narrow-necked bottle, molten, blazing red copper will be poured. When drinking it, first the lips will be burned, after the lips are burned, the palate will be burned, after the palate is burned, the tongue will be burned, after the tongue is burned, the throat will be burned, similarly the esophagus, similarly the small and large intestines, similarly the stomach and cecum will be burned, and then it will flow down to the lower body. In this way, that drinker of alcohol will experience non-virtue, and they will cry out, weep, and lament. When they are extremely agitated, the messengers of Yama will instruct them with verses, saying: 'When committing sinful deeds, know that the result is suffering. O ignorant one, you did not understand then, but later you will be completely tormented. O you of evil intellect, how did you commit sinful deeds? Do not weep, endure it in this way! Why do you utter meaningless lamentations? The result of sinful actions will be obtained by everyone. If you desire happiness for yourself, then do not engage in sin.'

Also do likewise. The various hells of intense and great suffering. Among them, the mind of sin, Even if liberated, is still overcome by ignorance, Repeatedly and continuously creates all kinds of sins, Saying that this will not lead to hell, Therefore, do not trust in sin. A small fire can burn, Forests and groves, Together with trees, are all burned. Ignorant people want to commit sins, But do not want harm to arise. The consequences of sin will come, Seeing that it arises from causes and conditions. Why not practice the Dharma? Why not completely abandon sins? Those who have abandoned sins, Will not see sentient beings in hell. The results of my sins, Because ignorant people do not understand, They obtain this fault, Evil wisdom, you practice it. Sins cause sentient beings to fall into hell, Sins cause them to be completely burned, Sins do not lead to Nirvana, There is no other enemy like sin. Sins have deceived in the past, Sins cause them to be completely burned, Those who do not commit sins, Will not go before them. This path of peace is the main one, For those who do not dwell in desire. Those who have abandoned desire, Are very close to Nirvana. Sins are constantly committed, And good deeds are not done, Sins burn, therefore, Do not think of sins in your mind. Those who practice sins, Will never find happiness. Therefore, if you desire, Always rely on the Dharma for happiness. Those who constantly commit sins, There is no suffering greater than that suffering. Therefore, do not constantly commit sins, If you are troubled by suffering, You should do good deeds. It is difficult to do evil deeds in goodness, It is easy to do evil deeds in evil, It is difficult to do evil deeds in excellence. Thus, the messengers of Yama repeatedly tell the sentient beings in hell, repeatedly admonishing them and causing various kinds of harm. For example, two hard mountains burning fiercely everywhere, colliding with great force, and the sentient beings in hell enter between these two mountains. For example, these two mountains grind things, not appearing, but actually grinding them to the extreme. They arise again, and after arising, they are placed between these two mountains and ground. Their sins
