Having mixed many flavors, it is tamed with cymbals, songs, and music, forgetting what is to be forgotten about the pleasure of the garden, living there with ordinary elephants, making it possible for it to be tamed by others. Then, when the one who knows the elephant method uses it completely in that way, he desires the pleasure of his own garden, remembering the mountains and medicinal fields, the gardens and flowers, the fruits and bird songs, the streams of water and the delightful places, remembering all the pleasures that were bound, cutting off all bonds, and having no fear even for the one who knows the elephant method. The wooden fence is also destroyed. It cannot be irrigated with pieces of sugarcane, ladu, sugarcane wine, and the taste of drinks, nor can its mind be controlled with songs, and the pleasure of its garden cannot be forgotten. It does not want to walk like ordinary elephants, and just as it remembers those gardens, the yogi monk has entered from beginningless time, bound by five bonds. What are the five? They are: sound, touch, taste, form, and pleasing smells. What is surrounded by the one who knows the elephant method? It is the pervasively afflicted consciousness of the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind. What is surrounded by one's own wisdom like a box in a house is, for example, sons and wives, monasteries and maids, male servants and enjoyments, and houses. Sugarcane and ladu, sugarcane wine and the taste of drinks are called ladu of pervasive discrimination, the thirst of desire, that is a euphemism. Attachment to craving is like a song. Joyful desire is like a bond. To be like an ordinary elephant is called an ordinary person's perverted view of an elephant, that is a euphemism. To dwell together is called seeing the destructible aggregates together with them, holding vows and asceticism, and honey for correct association with ordinary people.

Like being extremely happy with words of distorted views. The term "liable to be tempted" is a euphemism for being under the control of desire, hatred, and ignorance. The term "knowing the elephant's ritual" is a euphemism for being a practitioner of yoga. The term "when fully enjoying" is a euphemism for being accompanied by all ignorance and afflictions. The term "remembering the mountain of renunciation and the medicinal herbs of the mountain" is a euphemism for meditation and absorption. The term "flowers and fruits" refers to the Nirvana that arises as a result of generating the mind on the right path. The term "bird's sound" is a euphemism for the sound of Dharma speech. The term "delighting in the flow of the river" is a euphemism for the river of wisdom. The term "flow" is a euphemism for one-pointedness of mind. The term "place" is a euphemism for the realm of Brahma, namely, loving-kindness, compassion, joy, and equanimity. The term "after contemplating" refers to contemplating the bliss of meditation; the practitioner of yoga follows like a herd of elephants. Therefore, the practitioner of yoga should act like an elephant, not like a dog. Then, furthermore, how does a monk enter the ninth ground from the eighth ground? The practitioner of yoga, abiding in the inner Dharma, observing the Dharma in accordance with the Dharma, examines with the wisdom arising from hearing or with the divine eye, seeing that all these three realms are impermanent, suffering, empty, selfless, and vessels of impurity, and all desires are also like that. For example, in the midst of a forest, the fruits of trees grow in the great forest valleys, possessing many faults. There, picking small fruits is delightful, but it brings many faults, the danger of falling into the valley threatens life, the danger of an empty stomach leads to falling into cliffs, and climbing tall trees takes lives. If foolish and ignorant ordinary people

Having seen those fruits, they do not think of going to places of falling, such as cliffs, precipices, and tall hollow tree trunks, and dying. Those foolish children, each with their own weak minds, who are robbed by experiencing a small taste, climb that tree. They do not obtain the fruits from that tree, but throw their lives into the precipice. If some are naturally endowed with other means, or some who perform virtuous deeds, they see that just as the small taste of desire binds the many faults of children's minds. Likewise, that monk sees the five stages as if walking in the midst of a forest. The Noble Dharma of Mindfulness, Volume Six. The so-called "Great Precipice" means that all faults are like a precipice. The so-called "tree fruit gO" is the euphemism for the "tree of desire." The so-called "countless faults" refers to hundreds and thousands of afflictions, which are the euphemism for "experiencing suffering." The so-called "fruits on the tree" refers to the pleasant desires of sound, touch, taste, form, and smell, and the mind that is attached to them. The so-called "difficult to obtain" means that the fruits of desire are difficult to obtain, just like the afflictions brought about by entering the ocean, engaging in warfare, serving a king, bandits, and merchants. The so-called "many faults like the fruits of desire" is the euphemism for greed, hatred, and ignorance. The so-called "cliffs and precipices" is the euphemism for the cliffs of hell beings, animals, and hungry ghosts. The so-called "life will be threatened" is the euphemism for the life of the Dharma. The so-called "faults of the hollow tree trunk" is the euphemism for emptiness, accumulation, looseness, and lack of essence. The so-called "ignorant people do not go" is the euphemism for the reversed views of children. Therefore, having seen the many faults and the small desires without fruit, that monk does not universally contemplate all desires. Furthermore, that monk sees desires as like a burning flame.
