And, feeling and mind are also the same. Furthermore, the monk observes the source of nose and smell, relying on the nose, relying on the smell, and also relying on the attention that generates it, the consciousness of the nose arises, whether near or far, pleasant or unpleasant, fragrant or not fragrant, the smells brought by the wind or not brought are smelled separately. In this regard, the source of the nose combines with the external smell, and from the gathering of these three, contact arises, and feeling, perception, and mind arise together with contact. In this regard, the characteristic of experiencing is feeling. The characteristic of knowing is perception. After seeing that ear and the source of sound, the characteristic of inner contact is contact, the characteristic of knowing is perception. The characteristic of that mind is perception, which is attention. These dharmas are focused on a single moment, and the actions are initiated separately. For example, it is like the ten dharmas of the great earth whose nature is not the same. Similarly, all these dharmas have different characteristics, and other actions are initiated together in one moment. Thinking like this is the same as before. The monk, knowing the true nature of the source of nose and smell, seeks it in this way: Is this source permanent, stable, constant, non-existent, and completely changing? Knowing that the source of nose and smell is impermanent, suffering, empty, and selfless, and knowing that they are all selfless and without self, this source of nose and smell is merely a universal distinction, by which all individual beings are bound, and those of shallow wisdom separately contemplate the appearances. Furthermore, the monk seeks the source of the tongue, relying on the tongue, relying on the taste, and also relying on the attention that generates it, the consciousness of the tongue arises, and from the gathering of the three, contact arises, and feeling, perception, and mind arise together with contact. In this regard, the characteristic of experiencing is feeling, the characteristic of knowing is perception, the characteristic of contact is contact, and the characteristic of mind is attention, dharma.

These are based on the characteristics of perception, becoming self-characteristics and general characteristics, creating various different actions, and all of them excellently accomplish one meaning. For example, also relying on trees, also relying on dryness, also relying on carpenters, also relying on stoves, also relying on blacksmiths, one makes a finger ring. Similarly, the nature of all these dharmas is different, similarly, this dharma of the tongue's source also produces the tongue's source and the taste's source. Moreover, that monk thoroughly understands and sees the suchness of the tongue's source in this way, that if there is permanence, happiness, purity, self in the tongue's source, existing slightly, thinking in various ways, one will not see any small dharma possessing such a nature, then he is free from the desire of the tongue and taste's source. Where do all those oceans of sentient beings enter and cling to? Humans and gods, as well as sentient hells, animals, and hungry ghosts, these five destinies harm and merge with each other, thereby binding. He is liberated from the tongue and taste's source and is free from desire, there is no self for the tongue's source, there is no self for the tongue and taste's source, I am not permanent, not stable, not solid, it is the nature of complete change, thinking that the tongue and taste's source does not exist, he is also free from desire from this. Furthermore, that monk observes the body and the source of touch, he relies on the body, also relies on touch, thereby seeing the consciousness of the body arise, the three aggregates produce touch, the feeling, perception, and thought produced by the union of touch arise, these dharmas should be known as before. Just as the sources of the eye faculty have been explained, the touch of the body should also be understood.

Through wisdom arising from hearing, or observing with the divine eye, what dharma is included in the dharma-sphere is separate discernment cessation, non-separate discernment cessation, and space. Among them, what dharma is included in the dharma of no small part is space. What is called separate discernment cessation is the wisdom of separate discernment of nirvana, which manifests in various ways, separately discerning the place and extinguishing afflictions, causing them to be exhausted and destroyed, turning towards all uncontaminated dharmas and causing them to manifest. What is called non-separate discernment cessation is non-separate discernment, which does not know and has no knowledge, has no separate touch, is not knowledge and has no deep understanding, has no separation. It also destroys hundreds of thousands of generated consciousnesses of others, and in the consciousnesses of the eye, ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind, it destroys the self and does not arise again. This third is non-separate discernment cessation. Space and these three dharmas have no birth and are constant. They are not produced by time, do not arise, and do not come into being. Furthermore, how does a monk distinguish between the two aspects of form and non-form in the dharma-sphere? Among them, the ten with form are the form-sphere. How does the invisible and unimpeded eye consciousness perceive the visible and impeded form? Likewise, how does the ear consciousness, being invisible and unimpeded, grasp sound? Likewise, how does the nose consciousness, being invisible and unimpeded, grasp smell? Likewise, how does the tongue consciousness, being invisible and unimpeded, discern taste? Likewise, how does the body consciousness, being invisible and unimpeded, perceive the five external spheres? Furthermore, how do these five internal spheres, being invisible and unimpeded, perceive the visible and impeded spheres? If so, to what extent does that monk perceive?
