The meaning of experiencing suffering is the meaning of feeling. The meaning of perception is to correctly recognize when feeling. The characteristics of these dharmas that give rise to faith are different, and their essence is also different, like the ten great lands. The different characteristics of mind are also the same. Through conceptualization, attention is paid, as well as investigation, memory, feeling, perception, mind, touch, diligence, and samadhi. For one object of focus, the characteristics themselves are different. Similarly, the characteristics of feeling are also different, and similarly, the characteristics of perception are also different. For example, the essence of the sun is one, but the nature of light is different. Similarly, the essence of feeling is also different, and the essence of mind is also different. Therefore, one should know the truth of feeling, perception, and mind that arise from the touch that comes from the gathering of the eye. One should see the eye as empty, loose, and without essence. A monk who has correct understanding abandons wrong views by understanding the truth of the path. Because he first employs the correct view, he abandons the essence of perception, which is born together with the eye and has the nature of ignorance and confusion. He sees the truth of the lump of flesh, recognizing that it is the place of fat, pus, blood, and tears, thereby abandoning desire, recognizing that it is impermanent, and therefore does not regard it as permanent. Recognizing that there is a lump of flesh inside the bone cavity, one becomes free from desire. Recognizing that it is connected by tendons, and recognizing that this birthplace of the eye is interconnected, recognizing that it has no essence and no self. In short, he recognizes and sees that this eye is the source of suffering, thereby becoming free from desire for the birthplace of the eye. He understands the birthplace of the eye as it is, and discriminates and investigates form. If one thoroughly contemplates unreal forms, that is, ugly, not ugly, and unexplained, then one will think: Does this have essence? Is this clean? Is this permanent? Is there happiness in this? He observes and understands form, and through conceptualization, he does not cling to form. This

There is no essence in it. Beautiful and ugly forms are merely universal discriminations. There is no nature of beauty or ugliness in this. This world, which is grasped by universal discriminations of beauty and anger, thinks of it as beauty and hatred. He sees from the birth of the eye and goes to observe the birth of the ear. He distinguishes sounds. When sound arises, it enters the realm of the senses. It also relies on the ear, also relies on the sound, and also relies on the attention that produces it, thereby giving rise to ear consciousness. From the gathering of the three, touch arises. Feeling, perception, and thought arise together with touch. Among them, what experiences touch and what arises simultaneously? Among them, what does the perception that arises simultaneously with touch universally understand? What does the thought that arises simultaneously with touch think about? Perception is like this: this is long, such a characteristic. The causes and conditions for the arising of sound, from which arise sounds that are unclear, small, large, pleasant, and unpleasant, these arise. He separately recognizes the arising of sound and thinks truthfully, and perception distinguishes. Consciousness distinguishes, feeling understands, and hesitation discerns. When he is attached to the birth of the ear, he engages in discrimination. When he engages in discrimination, he discerns. When he discerns, he individually and truthfully recognizes. Among these, sound is not inherently pleasant or unpleasant. Pleasant or unpleasant sounds are merely universal discriminations. This sound is not inherently permanent, happy, essential, or possessed of self. Pleasant or unpleasant sounds are merely greed, hatred, and delusion. When he universally discriminates about the birth of sound, when he hears sound, there is no confusion, no attachment, and he realizes that there is no essence. When he realizes the birth of the ear and sound, he obtains freedom from attachment to ear consciousness and freedom from desire. He thinks that ear consciousness is not self, ear consciousness is not mine. Touch.
