Another wise disciple, recognizing that gold has been well refined, uses it as he pleases. If it needs to be distributed, it is made into bell ornaments; if it needs to be very beautiful, it is made into very beautiful ornaments; if it needs to be an armlet, it is made into an armlet; if it needs to be a beautiful decoration for the chest, it is made into a chest decoration; if it needs to decorate a scroll, it is used to decorate a scroll; if it needs a headdress, it is made into a headdress; if it needs a ring, it is made into a ring; if it needs a gold necklace, it is made into a gold necklace; if it needs a gorgeous crown, it is made into a gorgeous crown. Wherever it is taken, it becomes capable of its function. Similarly, a monk who possesses extremely high discipline and wisdom, I have completely purified him in this way, and completely tamed him in this way. If he has perfected the equanimity of the sphere of infinite space (Tibetan: ནམ་མཁའ་མཐའ་ཡས་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་ཀྱི་བཏང་སྙོམས།), and dwells in it in accordance with me, corresponds to it, especially dwells in it, draws near to it, then he perfects the equanimity (Tibetan: བཏང་སྙོམས།) of the sphere of infinite space and dwells in it. And he perfects and dwells in the sphere of infinite consciousness (Tibetan: རྣམ་ཤེས་མཐའ་ཡས་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་།), the sphere of nothingness (Tibetan: ཅི་ཡང་མེད་པའི་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་།), and the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception (Tibetan: འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་འདུ་ཤེས་མེད་མིན་སྐྱེ་མཆེད་།). He thinks like this: My equanimity is impermanent, unstable, not lasting, and of a completely changing nature. Therefore, he focuses on these four formless spheres, and focuses on my equanimity as impermanent and impermanent, focuses on unstable and unstable, and recognizes it as compounded. He thinks: The sphere of infinite space is impermanent, the sphere of infinite consciousness is without object, the sphere of nothingness is without object, and the equanimity of the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception is unwavering, this is peaceful, this is very beneficial. When feelings arise and are experienced throughout his body, he separately knows them, and he also separately knows the feelings that arise. He also separately knows the cessation, and he also separately knows the cessation. He separately knows the feelings arising from eye contact, similarly, he separately knows the feelings arising from ear contact, he separately knows the feelings arising from nose contact, similarly, he separately knows the feelings arising from tongue, body, and mind contact.

Those feelings that have manifested, he highly perceives the increase of those feelings themselves. When a feeling arises from eye contact, he abides in the arising and experiences it; when it ceases and vanishes, he knows, "My feeling has ceased." Furthermore, he knows separately the feeling arising from ear contact. When the feeling arising from my eye contact ceases, vanishes, and no longer arises, after these have ceased, another feeling arising from ear contact arises. This happiness, because it aims at happiness, is not suffering. Because it aims at both happiness and suffering, it is neither happiness nor suffering, he thinks. He sees and understands the feeling arising from ear contact as it is. He has no attachment to the feelings related to the ear, and when experiencing these feelings, he becomes detached from desire and attains liberation. When the feeling arising from ear contact ceases, the feeling arising from the object of the nose arises. He is completely aroused by the nose and individually experiences it completely by the nose. My feeling arising from nose contact has arisen. Aiming at happiness is happiness. Aiming at suffering is suffering. Aiming at neither suffering nor happiness is neither suffering nor happiness, he thinks. He individually experiences the feeling arising from the object of the nose as it truly is, and he also individually experiences its vanishing. When it ceases, the feeling arising from the object of the nose, happiness, suffering, neither suffering nor happiness, arises, and he individually experiences them. My feeling arising from the object of the nose arises. Just as increased attachment arises, so do these cessations of mine arise. After it ceases, the three kinds of feelings arising from the object of the tongue arise, up to the three kinds of feelings arising from the object of the mind, just as before. He enters the fourth dhyana, where feeling is vast and true. Having initiated diligence, with great joy, wanting to cut the bonds of Mara, the earth-dwelling yakshas are very pleased and proclaim to the space-dwelling yakshas. They also proclaim to the Four Great Kings. They also proclaim to the gods of the Four Great Kings.
