After he had stated the truth, the King of Death instructed that person as follows: "Wise one, due to your own actions, you were born as a human in the precious continent, but you were deceived. Why didn't you practice the Dharma? You see that happiness depends on actions, and the mind likewise depends on happiness. Practice death and rebirth, and let the Dharma be connected with the mind. All conditioned things are impermanent, like bubbles of water. In this world and the next, act in such a way as to perform good deeds. Whoever always does good will never do evil. He does not desire the path of greed, and always abides on the ladder to heaven. Children who are mindless always delight in doing wrong. Surely abandon evil, and you will go to a good destination. See the fruits of actions in the world, and see the various forms of gods. Those who are reckless and very rough will surely not become noble. For whose sake did you commit many sins with body, speech, and mind? All of them have passed away, and here you are alone. It is difficult to obtain a human body, and having obtained it, whoever commits many sins is very easily deceived and unbearable, and will surely go to a bad destination. Whoever is free from sin will be very happy with virtue, and he will obtain happiness from happiness and go completely to Nirvana. Whoever relies on virtue will become very auspicious. Whoever relies on sin will be very inauspicious. Bad in the beginning, middle, and end, the holy ones reproach it. Seeing evil going to evil, realize that sentient beings are near to hell. Good deeds and subdued senses are very good in the world. Separated from the body, go to a good destination, and you will be born in the world of the gods. You are bound by strong bonds, controlled by the messengers of death. The world of death is difficult to approach, and you have obtained fierce and unbearable suffering. Whatever evil you have done, experience that action here. Children experience what they have done themselves; others do not experience it." Thus, after the King of Death had instructed him, the punishments of death immediately appeared. Then, after that instruction, the person of death, because of his sins,

The doer, deceived by the fruit of his own actions, is led out from (hell) as the karma leads him. Until the sinful actions that have been done and accumulated are destroyed, abandoned, and exhausted, he feeds on food and wind. Then he will be liberated from the world of pretas. Even after liberation, if he is born as a human being with the same fate as humans, due to a common cause with that karma, he will live on the side of a frightening mountain and in a place with bad water, and he will see the road become difficult to travel. Then, that yogi, abiding in the inner dharma, following the dharma, thinking about how to enter the fourteenth other land. He sees the ten sense bases of form with the wisdom that comes from hearing or with the divine eye, namely: the sense base of the eye, the sense base of form, the sense base of the ear, the sense base of sound, the sense base of the nose, the sense base of smell, the sense base of the tongue, the sense base of taste, the sense base of the body, and the sense base of touch. He thinks to himself: "Depending on the eye and form, my perception has arisen." When he examines it, depending on the eye and form, eye consciousness arises. From the gathering of the three, contact arises. Arising together with contact are feeling, perception, thought, and consciousness. The function of contact is to touch, the function of feeling is to feel, the function of perception is to know, for example, whether this form is long or short, beautiful or ugly, can be indicated, or is obstructive. The function of thought is to think. The function of consciousness is to know. These dharmas tend to and arise on one object, but their characteristics are different, and their nature is also different. For example, the ten great earth dharmas are feeling, perception, thought, contact, attention, desire, faith, memory, samadhi, and wisdom. Thus, they are considered to have different characteristics on one object. The eleven dharmas, such as consciousness, gather together like the rays of the sun, but their nature is different. Similarly, the nature of consciousness is also different.
