They will be born among the pretas, their bodies tormented by hunger and thirst, their bodies becoming like burnt trees. Even after being liberated from the world of pretas, for five hundred lifetimes they will be reborn as animals, being burned and cooked by showers of firebrands and showers of sand. Even after being liberated from the world of animals, if they are fortunate enough to be born as humans, they will dwell in places of refuse and eat stones. After being born, they will suffer greatly and never be full, and the tips of their tongues will not taste delicious food, but only hear of it. They will see themselves being used by others, being poor, having diseases, and being despised. Then, the bhikshu, knowing the ripening of the fruits of karma, examines the surroundings of the great hell of Avici. With the knowledge born of hearing, he sees a hell called "the hell where mountains fall like rain." Thinking, "Where will these beings be born?" he examines it with the knowledge born of hearing. Whoever steals the food of a pratyekabuddha when he is hungry, that person, after separating from his body, will fall into a bad rebirth and be born in the hell called "the hell where mountains fall like rain." After being born there, all the sufferings of the hells, such as the hell of revival, will increase a hundredfold. In particular, the increase is as follows: hammers, short spears, pots, the suffering of valleys, and

They are cut and chopped, and also diligently slashed with swords. Four hundred and four diseases constantly harm them. They are tormented by all kinds of suffering, fiercely burning from all sides, turning into a sea of fire. The suffering of the hell beings, rough due to the heat, as long as their sinful deeds done and accumulated have not been experienced, not destroyed, abandoned, and exhausted, they will experience it for a long time, immeasurable by years. Afterwards, these beings will be liberated from that hell. Even after liberation, due to the corresponding cause and effect of that karma, they will be reborn as pretas for five hundred lifetimes, suffering from sharp hailstones, and will be born in the house of Chandanika. If they are liberated from there, they will be reborn as deer with vile voices, dwelling in the solitary Cirika monastery for seven hundred lifetimes. Their bodies will always be tormented by hunger and thirst. If they are liberated from there, and if they are fortunate enough to be reborn as humans, they will always carry burdens and be driven by others. Various kinds of harm will make their bodies weak, and they will not be able to rest peacefully day or night. Their feet and hands will crack, and their faces will always be rough. Their body color will be ugly, filthy, and always without clothes. Due to the corresponding cause and effect of that karma, even if they are reborn as humans, they will become like human-shaped pretas for five hundred lifetimes. Day and night, their body and mind will not be able to rest peacefully. Then, bhikshu, that one who knows the ripening of karmic results, contemplated the surroundings of the great hell Avici. With the knowledge arising from hearing, he saw the hell called 'Jambha Emitting Sounds.' Thinking, 'Due to what karma will beings be born there?' he contemplated with the knowledge arising from hearing. Those who, in a remote place, in a pond with little water, are connected to living beings, rely on it for life, depend on it, and that water, which sustains their lives, is cut off by an evil person with hatred. Because he cut off the water source, he made that place desolate, so that all the deer and birds died, and all the practitioners and Brahmins in the villages and cities
