In the midst of the traveling regions and the regions of Andhaka, I see poverty, disease, and being exploited by others. Then, O Bhikshu, knowing the ripening of the fruits of karma, when he examines the great hot hells, he sees, through the knowledge gained from hearing, sentient beings in the hells being cut and divided by black ropes, which is called the hot hell. There, wondering what these sentient beings will be born from, he examines through the knowledge gained from hearing, and finds that those who kill, take what is not given, engage in sexual misconduct, drink alcohol, and lie, if they constantly practice, cultivate, and increase these actions, will lead to such a result. Wrong views are marked, and actions arising from wrong views are shown. If they cultivate and increase these actions, then when they separate from the body, fall into evil destinies, and fall into the hot hell where black iron ropes cut and divide, they will be born there. There, all those sentient beings who have gathered the sufferings of the reviving hells and so on, will appear fivefold, and especially, due to the evil deeds they have done themselves, black ropes will entangle them, and the messengers of Yama will cut them from foot to head with sharp and blazing weapons. When they are cut in this way, they feel sorrow and anger, and utter sounds and weep. Weapons cut them, and black iron ropes cut them into extremely small pieces, so small that even like mustard seeds they cannot be seen. Thus, those hell beings will suffer extremely long periods of torment until their sinful deeds are destroyed, abandoned, and exhausted. Afterwards, these hell beings will be liberated from that hell, and even after liberation, due to the causal results that correspond to that karma, they will be born in five hundred lifetimes as pretas, becoming pretas who eat offerings. They will be born in five hundred lifetimes as aquatic creatures, scorpions, and in the dwelling places of ant corpses. If they are born as humans, sharing the same fate as humans, then due to the causal results that correspond to those karmas, they will be tormented by hunger and thirst in lifetime after lifetime, and they will also see kings being harmed by other kings. 了知业之果报者，若观察有情大热地狱之轮，则以闻所生慧，见有情地狱生于虫那札、轮和火怖怖中。彼处有情以何因缘而生耶？若以闻所生慧观察，则因杀生、不与取、欲邪行、饮酒、妄语，皆悉串习修习而多作。邪见亦复思惟修习而多作，谓如是：此世间是常，此世间是坚实，一切法是常，诸法是常，是不颠倒。如是彼颠倒见即是邪见，彼等亦于邪见彼者安立为正见，令执取为正见，屡屡显示而说轮转，令执持恶因及见边，显示非正法为正法之相，彼离身已，恶趣邪见堕落，生于有情地狱虫那札、轮和火怖怖中。生于彼处后，凡有情地狱复苏等之损害总集者，于彼等一切生起之上，特别生起者，谓如是，铁柱生起，击其头而生于臀部。自彼生起后，亦与地一同没入。以利木刺穿，虫那札名为食尽一切皮肉脂肪，食饮彼之支分及小支分，出血，动身，割肉，出眼，剖腹，出筋，亦断脉，烧燃滴处，拔毛，裂皮，入于众多筋中，剖心而饮，食肺、背、要害及要害等。彼之喉咙及舌头等细瘦干枯猛烈燃烧而牵引，令犬食之。何者说恶因及恶见之边际已坏，彼以彼之过患而如是。

Knowing the ripening of the fruits of karma, if one observes the wheel of the great hot hells of sentient beings, then with the wisdom arising from hearing, one sees sentient beings born in the hells of worms, wheels, and fire terrors. Thinking, "By what cause are sentient beings born there?" if one examines with the wisdom arising from hearing, it is because of killing, taking what is not given, sexual misconduct, drinking alcohol, and lying, all of which are constantly practiced, cultivated, and done extensively. Also, wrong views are thought about, cultivated, and done extensively, saying: "This world is permanent. This world is solid. All phenomena are permanent. Phenomena are permanent, and are not inverted." Thus, seeing it in an inverted way is wrong view. Those others also establish that very wrong view as the correct view, cause them to grasp it as the correct view, repeatedly show and speak of the cycle, cause them to hold onto bad causes and extreme views, and show what is not the true dharma as the aspect of the true dharma. Having separated from the body, falling into the bad realms of wrong views, they will be born in the sentient being hells of worms, wheels, and fire terrors. Having been born there, whatever harms are gathered from the sentient being hells of revival and so forth, above all those arising, especially arising, is like this: an iron pillar will arise, striking its head and arising in the buttocks. Having arisen from there, it will also sink together into the earth. Piercing with a sharp wood, the one called worm Na Tra eats all the skin, flesh, and fat, eating and drinking its limbs and minor limbs, causing blood to flow, moving the body, cutting flesh, taking out the eyes, disemboweling, taking out the tendons, also cutting the veins, burning the dripping places, plucking hair, tearing skin, entering into many tendons, cutting open the heart and drinking, eating the lungs, back, vital points, and so forth. Its throat and tongue and so forth, thin, dry, and fiercely burning, are pulled and made to be eaten by dogs. Whatever is said to be ruined by bad causes and the edge of bad views, by that fault, it is so.
