Unobstructed. Then, the Bodhisattva Rejoicer went there. Then, as soon as the daughter Endowed with Merit saw the Bodhisattva Rejoicer, she grasped the signs of subsequent realization from the Bodhisattva Rejoicer's voice and gaze, her mind completely seized by desire, completely tormented by desire, standing with her body all bent over, making the gesture of death, the Bodhisattva Rejoicer saw the daughter Endowed with Merit, and the thought of improper attention to the mind of desire arose. At that time, she had the thought: What is that dharma called desire? Is it the eye that is desire? The eye also has no feeling, no function, is compounded, is a collection of flesh, and because its nature is emptiness, it has no feeling. Then, are the ear, nose, tongue, body, and mind desire? Therefore, whether internal or external, no dharma that becomes desire or becomes hatred was observed. Not observing it, she eliminated the mind of desire, and examined her body from the soles of her feet covered with skin and flesh up to the crown of her head. Having examined it as it truly is, she realized that all dharmas are unborn, and obtained forbearance towards the unborn dharma. With that joy and great delight, he rose into the sky above to the height of a tala tree, circled the great city called "Existence" seven times, and went to the Blessed One. The Blessed One saw the Bodhisattva Rejoicer coming unobstructed from the sky above like a king of swans. Having seen this, the Blessed One said to the Venerable Rejoicer: Rejoicer, do you see the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Rejoicer coming from the sky? He replied: Blessed One, I see him. The Blessed One said: Rejoicer, the Bodhisattva Rejoicer has completely examined all dharmas from the mind of desire. He has subdued the armies of Mara. He has turned the wheel of Dharma. Then, as soon as the daughter Endowed with Merit died, she transformed from the body of a woman, and after death and transference, she was born in the world of the Thirty-Three Gods with equal status to the gods.

arose. As soon as he was born, an immeasurable palace made of seven precious materials, twelve yojanas in size, appeared, and forty-four thousand goddesses were also born to serve him. At that time, he had the knowledge of what virtuous roots caused him to be born here. As he pondered this, he thought to himself: I was the daughter of a householder in the great city of Shravasti. There, I saw a Bodhisattva who was pleasing, and my mind was tormented by desire. At the time of death, I transformed from a female body and obtained a male body, and I obtained these immeasurable miraculous powers. Then, the son of the gods thought to himself: If the ripening of desire is like this, what need is there to mention bowing to or serving the Bodhisattva who brings joy? It is not reasonable for me to play or make him happy. Therefore, I will go to where the Blessed One is, and where the one who brings joy is. Then, that son of the gods, together with his retinue, carrying flowers, incense, garlands, and unguents of immeasurable colors, went to where the Blessed One was, and offered flowers, garlands, and unguents to the Blessed One. He bowed his head to the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and, with his palms joined before the Blessed One, spoke these verses: The Buddhas, supreme among men, are inconceivable. The supreme state of enlightenment is inconceivable. The teachings of the Thus-Gone One are inconceivable. The conduct of the greatly renowned ones is inconceivable. I was once a girl in Shravasti. The daughter of a merchant, named Fortune Supreme. A virtuous and youthful woman, full of faith. My father and mother were loving and pleased. He is the son of the Buddhas, not to be despised. Called "Joyful One," he is of great power. In Shravasti, he went for alms. He went to my father's house. Hearing a pleasant and delightful sound. I was overjoyed and took food. The son of the Thus-Gone One, the Joyful One. Where is the one of great power now?
