And again, by the side of the road, a god dwelling in the wilderness, gazing with his divine eye, pointed out to another person, saying: "O noble men, within this bundle of cloth, there is the body of the Tathagata, made of precious jewels, which is worthy of being venerated by all the worlds. Open it!" O sons of good family, likewise, the Tathagata also sees all sentient beings bound by the entanglements of afflictions, worthy of being reproached, and constantly wandering for a long time in the wilderness of samsara. O sons of good family, even those who have gone to the place of birth of animals are the same. Among those sentient beings who are entangled by various entanglements of afflictions, he also sees what the body of the Tathagata is like. O sons of good family, at that time the Tathagata thought: "How can the Tathagata, with the wisdom of the Tathagata, be separated from the afflictions of the near side and become completely pure? How can he, like me now, become worthy of being venerated by all the worlds?" In order to liberate them from the entanglements of afflictions, he teaches the Dharma to all Bodhisattvas. Then, at that time, the Bhagavan spoke these verses: Just as filth and impurities should be reproached, The body of the Sugata is wrapped, Made of jewels, wrapped in a piece of cloth, Abandoned in the middle of the road and wandering, Having seen it with the divine eye, that god spoke thus to others, Here is the precious body of the Tathagata, Quickly open this bundle of cloth. Like my divine eye, He sees all these sentient beings, Because they are entangled by the entanglements of afflictions, They are tormented by the suffering of samsara and impermanence. Within the entanglements of afflictions, I see the body of the Victorious One abiding equally, Although it is unmoving and unchanging, Yet I see that there is nothing that can liberate it completely. Having seen this, I made this exhortation, Listen to those who enter the supreme Bodhi, Thus, the Dharma nature of sentient beings is constant, Here dwells the Victorious One who is completely wrapped. When the wisdom of the Sugata is fully revealed, When all afflictions are completely pacified, At that time, this is

Having obtained the name of Buddha, the gods and humans are very happy. Sons of good family, there is another example like this: for example, a woman who has become without refuge, with an ugly color, an unpleasant smell, worthy of contempt, terrifying, unpleasant to look at, like a female ghost, enters a house without refuge and dwells there. She dwells there and becomes pregnant, and even if such a being enters her womb, a being who will not be eaten by demons and will rule the kingdom of a wheel-turning king, that woman, regarding the being dwelling in her womb, does not even think, "What kind of being is this that has entered my womb?" She does not even think, "Has it entered my womb? Has it not entered?" She does not think that way, but always thinks of a poor mind, dejected, humble, and small-minded, and because of her ugly color and unpleasant smell, she dwells in a house without refuge and spends her days. Sons of good family, likewise, all sentient beings have become without refuge and are tormented by the suffering of samsara, dwelling in the house without refuge in the place of birth. There, the Tathagata-garbha dwells in the hearts of sentient beings, but even though it is in their hearts, those sentient beings do not understand it. Sons of good family, therefore, the Tathagata is for the sake of sentient beings not despising themselves, sons of good family, do not let yourselves wither and die, you must strive steadfastly, the presence of the Tathagata-garbha in your hearts will appear at some time, and you will enter the ranks of those called Bodhisattvas, and not the ranks of those called sentient beings. There, you will also enter the ranks of those called Buddhas, and not the ranks of those called Bodhisattvas, thus the Dharma is taught. Then, at that time, the Bhagavan spoke these verses: Just like a woman without refuge, with an ugly color and an unpleasant form, a child, dwelling in a house without refuge. After some time, she became pregnant there. In her womb, surely, is the great wheel-turning king, the supreme of jewels, the lord of the four continents, like that entered.
