Now, concerning those great sacred sites, whether it be demons, gods, nagas, yakshas, rakshasas, asuras, garudas, humans, non-humans, or even from gandharvas to humans and non-humans, if any being uses water, fire, or any other means of suppression that prevents benefit, utterly destroys, or completely ruins them, you should remember the Tathagatas who have passed away in the three times, and with a loving heart towards all sentient beings, remember this which perfectly accomplishes all vast prophecies of samadhi, which repels all hatred. At that time, the minds of those beings will generate great faith. Afterwards, they will not suppress in order to completely destroy. Any son of good family who, having heard this which perfectly accomplishes all vast prophecies of samadhi and repels all hatred, does not repel sinful thoughts and does not abandon evil deeds, I have not truly seen in the world with gods up to beings, except for those mixed with past grudges. When the Bhagavan spoke this prophecy, all those in that assembly, including gods, nagas, yakshas, rakshasas, pretas, gandharvas, flesh-eaters, humans, and non-humans, who had great faith in the Bhagavan, all developed great joy, supreme joy, and great faith in the Bhagavan. Also at that time, through the power of the Bhagavan's miraculous abilities, I, the evil demon Mara, heard this perfect accomplishment of samadhi in my own abode. Having heard it, I developed great joy, faith, and reverence for the Bhagavan, and tears came forth. I said to the assembly, "Listen to my words! This is the ascetic sage Shakyamuni, the supreme victor, possessing patience, qualities, and the most excellent true words. The great crawling ones and the gods have shown the time of patience, burning in that sacred mountain place filled with insects. I too will go there and ask the incomparable shramana for patience. I will take refuge in him. The Victorious One, Patience, possesses incomparable and various kinds of compassion."

To take refuge in the one who possesses that, please come with me. Listen to the Dharma that he teaches, which is without anything. Cut the net of afflictions. Enter the city that is without dust and without fear. Then, the evil demon, possessing eighty million retinues, bowed his head to the two feet of the Bhagavan and prayed thus. O Holy One with two feet, who brings great peace, please forgive the powerful one with the strength of patience. I seek all your qualities. Please forgive whatever wrong I have done. I prostrate to all the victors of the three times. I also take refuge in the Dharma and the Sangha. Please, Lama, forgive my faults. Hereafter, I will not quarrel with you. Then, the Bhagavan spoke these words to the evil demon: I have no anger, and I have no afflictions at all. I always have an equal mind towards all sentient beings. I am also happy with you, demon. The Victorious One, possessing the mind of patience, always forgives. Then, the evil demon, with great joy and faith arising, bowed his head to the two feet of the Bhagavan. He circumambulated three times and remained gazing only at the Bhagavan. Then, from within that retinue, the demon son named "Rough Radiance," together with all the realms of the demons, bowed to the two feet of the Bhagavan and prayed to the Bhagavan thus: O Venerable Bhagavan, I am called Eye-Eye. O Venerable Bhagavan, is the cause of forms the eye? Or is the cause of the eye the forms? And so on, is the cause of dharmas the realm of mind? Or is the cause of mind the dharmas? The Bhagavan taught: Son of good family, the cause of forms is not the eye, and the cause of the eye is not the forms, and so on, the cause of dharmas is not the mind, and the cause of the mind is not the dharmas. Son of good family, however, the eye is empty of eye. Although it is like that, the consciousness of the eye arises relying on the eye. Because of that condition, forms are fully known, and so on, because of the condition of the mind, the consciousness of the mind arises. Because of that condition, dharmas are fully known.

English
Shaba! Eye consciousness, arising from its object, comes from nowhere, nor goes anywhere. The eye does not dwell outside; it does not fixate on anything belonging to all three times. The eye has no decrease, nor increase, no sign, no name, no true assembly, no basis. For example, when the sun rises in the morning, the sun's rays entering through any window are truly visible on the wall. The wall has no darkness, light, or discrimination. The wall itself is not light, nor is there light because of the wall, yet there is light on the wall. The light itself is not the sun, nor is the sun itself the light. When the sun sets, the light also disappears. Light has nowhere to go and no basis, yet light is known because of the sun, and it also appears to rely on the light of form. Similarly, the cause of the six internal sources is also the six internal sources, so it is said. The cause of the internal sources is not the external sources, because they are mutually contained. There is no change in containment, no true assembly, no basis. For the external and internal sources, up to consciousness, there is no sign, no change, no true assembly, and no basis, because they are mutually contained and because they are not objects. However, consciousness recognizes consciousness, because consciousness is the cause of action, so consciousness is also the cause of action. There are three actions: bodily action, verbal action, and mental action. Among them, what is bodily action? Bodily action is breathing in and out; these are bodily actions. Breathing in and out also takes the limbs, because of inequality and equality, and because of non-inverted suchness, any other part is also unequal.
