Having understood, one does not cling to the body. Actions and the body are like the heartwood of a water-tree trunk. Therefore, one truly understands as it is. Therefore, it is said to be Buddha. In truth, consciousness does not reside within the body. Even outside this body, consciousness is impossible. For all phenomena, in every way, consciousness is impossible. The place and non-place of this, and its movement, are also imperceptible. Always utterly unreal, thus comprehend consciousness. Like an illusion or a magic trick, no one can ever know it. In whatever way all sentient beings are, such consciousness is not seen. Truly, no one has become all-knowing. All phenomena are unreal; truly, there is no knower. In this, as a dharma or a sentient being, examination within does not exist. All phenomena are unreal, unchanging and without elaboration. One understands it as being like an illusion. Therefore, one is called a Buddha. Having realized all these phenomena, one abides as a Buddha. There is no abiding in all phenomena. Therefore, one is called a Buddha. Just as phenomena abide, one comprehends it as suchness. Buddha and enlightenment are the same, without object and uncompounded. Whoever enters for the sake of enlightenment, whatever the mind that is generated, since the subtle dharma is imperceptible, that mind will not become an object. Because for the sake of enlightenment, that mind that has been generated, enlightenment and mind are the same, one understands it as being like a magical creation. Ananda, having contemplated this, what is said to be Buddha, the guide of the Buddha is myself, this is well spoken in words. The dharmas that are shown in the sound of Buddha, these are like this, whoever abides in this dharma, Those who enter for the supreme enlightenment. Those who know the dharmas in that way, those who are close to the supreme enlightenment. Those who, for all the dharmas, have no doubt whatsoever. Having thought and spoken in this way, whoever will know this dharma, those who, because of abandoning doubt, become supreme in the world. The Bhagavan said: Tathagata, Bhagavan, and Buddha.

Immediately after answering with these three syllables "va," then many hundreds of thousands of beings requested the Blessed One, saying: "Blessed One, with what in mind do you call a bodhisattva a Tathagata? Call (him) Blessed One? Call (him) Buddha? Blessed One, we no longer have doubts or hesitations. Blessed One, we have fully understood those dharmas. We have attained mindfulness here by way of not fixating on all dharmas. The Tathagata, Arhat, Perfectly Complete Buddha has done for us what parents do. The Blessed One has extended his hand to us. We will not generate a mind that wavers again. We have attained the dharma that does not waver. Blessed One, just as no one can cause the unwavering sky to waver, so too, Blessed One, we also do not waver with regard to all dharmas. Why is that? Because we have realized that all dharmas are unwavering, equal to and like the sky, and unborn." Then, many hundreds of thousands of beings bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and sat not far from the Blessed One. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, endowed with power and joy, spoke these verses at that time: Ah, many perceptions of fruit! Liberated from the perception of fruit. Perfectly attained in fruit. I prostrate to you, protector of the world! Also speaking of fruits, And also excellently proclaiming equality. Perfect Buddha-fruit. I prostrate to you, wise one of the world! There are no beings desiring fruit. Fruit is the realm of various actions. Perfect Buddha who fully explains. I prostrate to you, tamer of the world! Entering excellently into equality, And also showing all dharmas. Knowing all beings equally. I prostrate to you with equality! Beings are focused on fruit. Completely liberated from focus. Explainer of all focuses. I prostrate to you, famous one of the world!

La! The fruit is peaceful and perfectly complete, all kinds of fruits are completely abandoned, possessing all virtues without exception, I prostrate to you, the one who knows the world. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva, endowed with laughter and power, with these verses, praised the Bhagavan, bowed his head at the feet of the Bhagavan, circumambulated the Bhagavan three times, departed from the Bhagavan's presence, and sat not far away, gazing at the Bhagavan without blinking, joyfully and exceedingly joyfully. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva named Lotus Splendor Essence rose from his seat, scattered lotuses upon the Bhagavan, and praised the Bhagavan with these verses: The dwelling place of sentient beings' perception of objects, you have completely unraveled many, fearless, without attachment, supreme Sage, I prostrate to you. The Dharma of near peace and freedom from existence is excellently taught, hero, one who is free from existence, supreme Sage, I prostrate to you. You know that objects are empty, always without inherent nature, having abandoned existence, perfect Buddha, supreme Sage, I prostrate to you. The rope that leads to existence is completely cut, without afflictions, dwelling nowhere, liberated from fear and dread, supreme Sage, I prostrate to you. Without fear, without shame, making the supreme proclamation of speech, having completely transcended all sounds, supreme Sage, I prostrate to you. Without sorrow, having attained fearlessness, having completely released the arrow of sorrow, having abandoned the demons, without faults, supreme Sage, I prostrate to you. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Lotus Splendor Essence, having praised the Bhagavan with these verses, spoke thus: In the future, in the times of the future, whoever, in this sutra like this, the wise will not become afraid, those sentient beings are worthy of reverence. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva named Dustless Wisdom spoke thus to the Bhagavan: The vast Dharma of the Buddhas, this sutra is certainly taught. Those who have doubts about this, without them are few.
