It is not. Other than great love, great compassion, great joy, and great equanimity, it is not emptiness. Nirvana itself is not emptiness, and other than Nirvana, it is not emptiness. These are the Middle Way endeavors of the Tathagatas and Bodhisattvas in teaching the sacred Dharma to sentient beings. Son of good family, thus the Tathagata teaches the Dharma to sentient beings with the wheel of immaculate conduct, just as the light of the full moon is extremely clear and cool, pervading all of space without obstruction, and appearing without obstruction in all realms of activity, so it is extensively taught. The wheel of non-attachment also teaches the sacred Dharma, and is unobstructed in all dharmas, just as the light of the sun shines everywhere, teaching the sacred Dharma without attachment according to the vessels and faculties of the three vehicles. The Tathagata teaches the Dharma to sentient beings, just as the sky has no different characteristics, with the power of freely playing with immeasurable samadhi and being completely held by adornment, teaching the sacred Dharma to sentient beings without attachment, and introducing them according to which of the three vehicles is suitable. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva who has donned great armor, teaching the Dharma to others is also like this, causing sentient beings to hear this supreme and profound Dharma, introducing them to one of the three vehicles according to their inclination, causing the roots of virtue to fully ripen, establishing them in one vehicle, and not causing all kinds of sinful and unwholesome actions to increase in the place of samsara, making all nirvana firm, and also irreversible. Son of good family, the Bodhisattva Mahasattvas teach the Dharma in order to completely cut off the samsara of countless immeasurable sentient beings. The Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas teach the Dharma to others only in order to cut off their own samsara. The Bodhisattva Mahasattva teaches the Dharma to others in order to liberate countless immeasurable sentient beings from the four rivers. The Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas, in order to liberate themselves from the four rivers

For this reason, they teach the Dharma to others. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas teach the Dharma to others in order to eliminate the disease of afflictions of immeasurable and countless sentient beings. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas teach the Dharma to others in order to eliminate the disease of their own afflictions. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas teach the Dharma to others in order to completely cut off the remaining stream of habitual tendencies of afflictions of the aggregates of all sentient beings, without leaving any residue. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas teach the Dharma to others in order to completely cut off the remaining stream of habitual tendencies of afflictions of their own aggregates alone, without leaving any residue. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas teach the Dharma to others in order to accomplish the fruit of great compassion, having made great compassion the cause. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas do not teach the Dharma to others for the sake of the fruit of great compassion, having made great compassion the cause. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas teach the Dharma to others, focusing on all sentient beings. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas teach the Dharma to others without focusing on sentient beings. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas teach the Dharma to others in order to pacify the suffering of all sentient beings. Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas teach the Dharma to others in order to pacify their own suffering alone. Bodhisattva-Mahasattvas teach the Dharma to others in order to pervade all sentient beings with the taste of Dharma.
