If one deceives all sentient beings, it is difficult to obtain a human body due to that karma. If one harms or injures, insults or slanders, or steals the alms bowl and robes of the noble ones who have entered my teachings, and those who wear the maroon robes, they will lose the happiness of gods and humans forever. Therefore, if someone desires to obtain a human body, to be free from the suffering of being mute at the time of death, and to constantly meet all the Buddhas, they should protect the teachings of the three vehicles. Among the three vehicles, if one desires the supreme vehicle, and is skilled in understanding the meaning of the three vehicles, if they joyfully and enthusiastically explain it extensively to others, they will definitely become a Buddha, without any doubt. Abandon those who break their vows, are stingy, and arrogant, abandon those who praise themselves and criticize others, and falsely claim to be Mahayana practitioners, and rely on the wise, and they will definitely become a Buddha, transcending the three realms. According to which of the three vehicles is suitable, teach the Dharma of the three vehicles with love and compassion, if you make each person fully complete, you will definitely become a Buddha, without any doubt. Know that the aggregates, elements, and sense bases are peaceful, and do not abide anywhere like the sky, teach the Dharma and gather many sentient beings, and you will obtain immeasurable wisdom and excellent intelligence. If one delights in breaking vows and is sinful, after hearing the excellent qualities of the Great Vehicle, falsely claiming to be Mahayana practitioners for the sake of profit and fame, it is like a donkey wearing a lion's skin. Now, I am instructing all the retinue: If someone desires to quickly attain supreme enlightenment, they should diligently practice the path of the ten virtuous actions, and be extremely careful not to slander my teachings. I have said in other sutras in the past that those who desire great enlightenment should practice the Great Vehicle, and abandon the Hearer and Solitary Realizer vehicles. This is the Dharma taught to the pure retinue. By making offerings to immeasurable hundreds of thousands of millions of Buddhas, abandoning sins and purifying one's mind, for those who practice diligently, the non-dual, the only vehicle is taught. Now this retinue is a vessel for the three vehicles, some possess the Dharma of the Hearer vehicle, and are afraid of many karmic entities, these are not vessels for supreme enlightenment. Some delight in solitude and attain enlightenment on their own, these are also not vessels for supreme enlightenment. Some are suitable to be established in supreme wisdom, therefore, the three vehicles should be taught according to their inclinations. The merit of practice.

Those who only desire liberation (through the Hinayana), if they hear the teachings of the Mahayana, will fall into the lower realms. It is like giving milk to someone suffering from a phlegm disease; it will turn into poison and not cure the illness. Likewise, those of the Hearer Vehicle who are not vessels, if they hear the teachings of the Mahayana, will become confused, and those who speak of annihilation will fall into the lower realms. Therefore, one should examine the faculties and then teach the Dharma. This is the fourth chapter, the chapter on abiding and practicing, from the Tenth Wheel of the Essence of the Earth, the Sutra of Great Expansion.
