They are not allowed to do everything. Those are the heavy root sins among the sins of self-nature, called the impermissible and the not-to-be-done. Why is it called the root sin? Because anyone who does these four kinds of dharma will immediately fall into the evil realms after death, because it is the root of going to the evil realms, so it is called the root sin. Why is it said to be the uninterrupted sin, close to the uninterrupted sin, and the extremely heavy evil deed of the impermissible and the not-to-be-done in the root sin? Son of good family, for example, if an iron ball or a lump of raw iron is thrown into the sky, it will not stay for even a moment, but will immediately fall back to the ground. The five uninterrupted sins, close to the uninterrupted sins, the four root sins, slandering the true dharma, hesitating about the Three Jewels, and the two kinds of sinful people are also the same. Anyone who commits any of these eleven sins will undoubtedly be born in the great hell of uninterrupted sentient beings immediately after death, and will suffer great pain. Therefore, it is called the impermissible and the not-to-be-done extremely heavy evil deed. Those who have committed these impermissible and not-to-be-done extremely heavy evil deeds are destined to be unable to exhaust their afflictions in this life, and even if they cannot achieve samadhi, let alone enter the right path and attain accomplishment. Immediately after death, they will undoubtedly be born in the hell of sentient beings and suffer great pain. Great Brahma, moreover, any son or daughter of good family who, with a pure mind, has faith in my teachings and enters the Hearer Vehicle, or enters the Solitary Buddha Vehicle, or enters the Great Vehicle, because they have faith in my teachings, renounces the household life and takes full ordination, and is extremely respectful and serves the many places of learning, and must strive to protect the four root sins. For that person, gods, humans, and non-humans will always follow and protect them, and that person's offerings to gods, humans, etc. will not be in vain. Vehicle

Whichever of the three one is interested in and delights in, that will immediately become the ultimate refuge. Therefore, those who wish to truly transcend suffering should not violate these four easily practiced dharmas, even if it means losing their body and life. Why is that? Because ordinary beings, through these three causes, will be able to attain the happiness of transcending suffering. What three? The cause of relying on the Tathagata, the cause of relying on the teachings of the noble ones, and the cause of relying on my close attendants, these three. Ordinary beings, relying on these three causes, and diligently striving, will be able to attain the happiness of transcending suffering. If anyone violates these four dharmas, then I am not his teacher, nor is he my Shravaka disciple. If anyone violates these four dharmas, then that is a violation of the Pratimoksha that I have taught, which is extremely profound, vast impermanence, suffering, emptiness, selflessness, and taught for the benefit and happiness of all sentient beings. If one violates the Pratimoksha that I have taught, then he will be bewildered and confused by all the meditations and Samadhis, unable to engage and enter, entangled and controlled by many afflictions, and not a vessel for the Dharma of the three vehicles, therefore he will fall into the lower realms and experience great suffering. Whether it is a son of good family or a daughter of good family, if they do not violate the four root vows of the Pratimoksha that I have taught, and are completely pure, then I am his teacher, and he is my Shravaka disciple, following my teachings, abiding in my Dharma in happiness, perfecting all activities, and that person abides greatly in the aggregate of morality, therefore he abides well in all virtuous Dharmas. He abides in the perfect Shravaka vehicle, he abides in the perfect Pratyekabuddha vehicle, he abides in the perfect Mahayana vehicle. Why is that? If one protects these four roots of inherent evil, then one establishes the supreme and excellent cause of all virtuous Dharmas, both with outflows and without outflows. Therefore, these four dharmas should be protected.
