It is not so. One is not particularly pleased with gain, respect, and praise. One is not attached to noisy places. One is not attached to talk of country history, talk of kings, talk of thieves, talk of women, talk of laughter, talk of war, and talk of fighting and arguing. One is not attached to bad countries, bad regions, bad districts, villages, cities, markets, and dangerous cliffs. One is not attached to dancing, leaping, laughter, and singing. Furthermore, sons of good family, bodhisattvas, are not attached to stingy beings. One is not attached to those who have broken their vows, those who are separately ordained, and those who have become habitual medicine users. One is not attached to the harshness of harmful thoughts and those who have much hatred. One is not attached to the lazy and those who have little diligence and have abandoned diligence. One is not attached to a mind that is distracted and perverted and wanders about. One is not attached to those who have corrupt wisdom and those who are foolish and dull by nature. Bodhisattvas are particularly pleased with giving dharma, material goods, and fearlessness. Attachment, hatred, and delusion are completely cut off. A great yogi, one who delights in silence. One who does not speak much and is gentle. One is particularly pleased with solitude in peaceful and nearly peaceful places, and with dense forests, grass, trees, shrubs, small areas, riverbanks, secluded mountains, various caves, mountains, rocks, peaks, and remote places. One is very pleased with those peaceful, completely peaceful, and nearly peaceful places, and in those places, one does not sleep in the upper or lower part of the night, but dwells diligently in yoga, dwells in the sight of dense hearing, thinking, and meditation, and wanders in hundreds of thousands of doors of contemplation, samadhi, dharani, power, and patience, and thoroughly distinguishes hundreds of thousands of immeasurable doors of dharma, and even sees hundreds of thousands of Buddhas, and sam

Also attaining a hundred thousand doors of samadhi, also manifesting a hundred thousand doors of dharani, and also completely maturing a hundred thousand billion kotis of sentient beings, like that, being exceedingly delighted with those. Son of good family, a Bodhisattva should do likewise. Like that, one can comprehend the Dharma-nature of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Unattached spoke thus to the Bhagavat: Bhagavat, the Great Vehicle abides in diligence and makes practice its essence. Therein, practice is aspiring to Bodhi. Diligence is fulfilling aspirations. Furthermore, practice is engaging in generosity. Diligence is not hoping for maturation. Practice is perfectly taking the vows of morality without impairment. Diligence is practicing morality without turning back. Practice is engaging in patience. Diligence is realizing the unborn Dharma. Practice is not being weary of completely seeking all roots of virtue everywhere. Diligence is completely abandoning all endeavors. Practice is engaging in meditation. Diligence is the meditation of non-abiding. Practice is completely fulfilling wisdom. Diligence is not elaborating all Dharmas. Practice is completely upholding the sacred Dharma. Diligence is not focusing on all Dharmas. Practice is firmly establishing sentient beings in Bodhi. Diligence is not focusing on sentient beings. Practice is, having done all roots of virtue, completely dedicating them to Bodhi. Diligence is realizing all Dharmas as the essence of Bodhi. Practice is obtaining forbearance of the unborn Dharma. Diligence is intentionally taking rebirth. Practice is universally showing the array that goes to the heart of Bodhi. Diligence is manifestly awakening to complete perfect enlightenment in countless immeasurable eons. Practice is manifestly awakening to Bodhi. Diligence is having done what was to be done before. Practice is approaching great complete Nirvana. Diligence is Dharma.

Indeed, it is said to be completely extinguished. World Honored One, it is not difficult to attain enlightenment for a Bodhisattva who possesses such practice and such skillful means. World Honored One, therefore, a Bodhisattva should strive in this practice and these skillful means. World Honored One, this is the truthful exposition of the Dharma. Then, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva Lódrö Nampar Nön (Intelligence Surpassing All) said to the World Honored One: World Honored One, Bodhisattvas, abiding in the correct acceptance of the Dharma, truly practice the enlightenment of the Buddha. Some of them think, 'What Dharma is the name "Buddha, Buddha" given to?' When they contemplate in this way, they do not truly see the Dharma that is called "Buddha." They comprehend all Dharmas as the Buddha does. Possessing such complete knowledge, whatever they think of in their minds, they accomplish the attainment of Buddhahood. Some think, 'This Dharma called "Dharma, Dharma" does not abide in a place, nor does it abide in a direction. Moreover, it is not that Dharma does not depend on one's own mind.' Therefore, I should diligently restrain my own mind, exhaust it, subdue it, equalize it, and thoroughly cut it off. Why? Because whatever the mind is, it has qualities and faults; without mind, there are no qualities and faults. The Bodhisattva turns the mind away from faults and engages in qualities. Therefore, it is said that Dharma depends on the mind, and enlightenment depends on the Dharma. World Honored One, this is the correct acceptance of the Dharma, and one will manifestly awaken to complete enlightenment in bliss. World Honored One, the correct acceptance of some Bodhisattvas is like this: that mind which benefits all sentient beings and equally enters into bliss is the mind. Whoever does not possess such a mind has wrongly entered into sentient beings. Why? Because the field of sentient beings is the Buddha of the Bodhisattva.
