Without a maker, without a root, without an owner, without 'mine,' without grasping, the so-called aggregates, body, enjoyment, place, taste, and sense bases are all named by temporary terms. This body is without essence, arising from the semen and blood of parents, unclean, decaying, naturally foul-smelling, disturbed by thieves of desire, hatred, delusion, fear, and laziness, always decaying, rotting, separating, scattering, and destroying, having such a nature, a nest of hundreds and thousands of different diseases, thus one should establish mindfulness of the body. Furthermore, son of good family, the Bodhisattva contemplates thus: this body is merely an assembly of feet, toes, shins, thighs, knees, abdomen, navel, spine, heart, ribs, palms of the hands, arms, elbows, throat, cheeks, forehead, and skull, accumulated by actions arising from karma, a place of afflictions, near afflictions, conceptual thoughts, and hundreds and thousands of different discriminations. This is an assembly of many substances, such as hair, body hair, nails, teeth, bones, skin, flesh, body, tendons, fat, oil, pus, spleen, urine, feces, stomach, large intestine, blood, nasal mucus, bile, pus, saliva, brain, and marrow, thus it is an assembly of many substances. So, how can this be called a body? Thus one should establish mindfulness of the body. When examining separately, one thinks thus: this body is like space, thus one should establish mindfulness of the body as like space. One sees all of it as like space. One should fully understand the body, and not be attached to anything, not regress, without attachment and without regression, it is called abiding in mindfulness. Thus abiding in mindfulness, just as one understands the body, one understands enlightenment in the same way, and there is no attachment to enlightenment. Why is that? Because all attachments are

not in the usual way. This is called the body mindfulness of a Bodhisattva. Now, what is the feeling mindfulness of a Bodhisattva? Here, a Bodhisattva thinks thus: "Feeling" means to experience. That contact is also inverted, not inverted, and liberated from both. For those ordinary people whose minds are distracted and inverted, their feelings are inverted. They feel permanence in impermanence, happiness in suffering, self in non-self, and purity in impurity. This is inverted feeling. Those who feel impermanence in impermanence, suffering in suffering, non-self in non-self, and impurity in impurity, this is the feeling of the Hearers. Those who feel impermanence and non-impermanence in impermanence, neither suffering nor happiness in suffering, non-self and non-non-self in non-self, and impurity and non-impurity in impurity, this is the feeling of Bodhisattvas. When a Bodhisattva feels in this way, he does not truly see the feeler. Because he does not see the feeler, he also does not truly see the feeling. He thinks thus: "The Blessed One has also said that all conditioned things are feeling. If all conditioned things were not feeling, then what is called a feeler here? Feeling is not a feeler, not an object of feeling, not feeling, and not a feeler. The unconditioned is also not a feeler of the conditioned. There is no feeler who is liberated from the conditioned and the unconditioned." Thus, they truly see that those feelings are without feeling. Here, they do not truly see any effort made by feeling. As a Bodhisattva feels, so too do they truly see. This is called the feeling mindfulness of a Bodhisattva. Now, what is the mind mindfulness of a Bodhisattva? Here, a Bodhisattva thinks thus:

That is, whatever is felt is only mind. That mind is also without a place, without grasping, without a body. Since there is no place, no grasping, no body, how should its place be? Mind cannot know mind, mind cannot see mind. The mind that arises from dependence on something is also seen as dependent on others, without autonomy. Without realizing the mind, one cannot know enlightenment. If one knows that it is only the mind of enlightenment, then one gains mastery over the mind. By mastering the mind, one masters the Great Vehicle, and one's mind is equal towards all sentient beings, and one does not rely on others for the Great Vehicle. This is called the mindfulness of a Bodhisattva's mind. Furthermore, what is the Dharma mindfulness of a Bodhisattva? Here, a Bodhisattva, whether in virtue or non-virtue, with or without fault, with or without outflows, worldly or beyond worldly, the Dharma of a Hearer, or the Dharma of a Solitary Buddha, or the Dharma of an ordinary being, whatever Dharma one establishes mindfulness in, that Dharma is extremely well-held, extremely well-practiced, extremely well-accumulated, or extremely well-realized, coming from one's own mouth, extremely well- That mindfulness of mastery makes the unborn and the unceasing equal. By that unborn and unceasing, one is liberated, by that dependent arising, one is liberated, by that emptiness, signlessness, and wishlessness, the Dharma of liberation is also not truly seen. One thinks thus: all dharmas are without a master, they are of the nature of solitude. All dharmas are without self, they are of the nature of non-duality. All dharmas are without obstruction, they are of the nature of space. All dharmas are non-discriminating, separate from mind, intellect, and consciousness. All dharmas are of the nature of liberation, they are of the nature of non-affliction. All dharmas are without speech, they are of the nature of unspeakable. All dharmas are without letters, they are of the nature of the unconditioned. All dharmas are countless, they are extremely beyond all numbers. Dharma
