This is the sixth liberation. He completely transcends the sphere of nothingness, perfects the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, and abides therein; this is the seventh liberation. He completely transcends the sphere of neither perception nor non-perception, perfects the cessation of perception and feeling, and abides therein; this is the eighth liberation. How does one with form contemplate forms? One contemplates them as dependently arising, empty, and without wavering. By contemplating in this way, one is liberated; therefore, it is called liberation. By perceiving inner formlessness, one contemplates outer forms as emptiness, dependent arising, and without wavering; by contemplating in this way, one is liberated; therefore, it is called liberation. It is to be fond of the repulsive; what is called repulsive is emptiness. What is not repulsive is what is contemplated. By being fond of the repulsive, one is liberated; therefore, it is called liberation. He completely transcends all perceptions of form, the perceptions of obstruction are extinguished, and not attending to various perceptions, thinking "space is infinite," he perfects the sphere of infinite space and abides therein; what is called infinite space, this space is emptiness. By seeing in this way, one is liberated; therefore, it is called liberation. Completely transcending the sphere of infinite space, thinking "consciousness is infinite," he perfects the sphere of infinite consciousness and abides therein; what is called infinite consciousness, this consciousness is said to be without beginning. Whatever is without beginning is emptiness. By seeing in this way, one is liberated; therefore, it is called liberation. He completely transcends the sphere of infinite consciousness, thinking "there is nothing at all," he perfects the sphere of nothingness and abides therein; what is called "nothing at all" refers to desire, hatred, and delusion. What is called "nothing at all" means the absence of these. By seeing in this way, one is liberated; therefore, it is called liberation. He completely
