Accumulation is thought to be permanent, and seeing the mind as existing is called birth. When what is seen is not seen, it is called cessation. The cause accumulated by one mind, not seeing its place, is the place where self-nature is not cut off, which is growth. In the victory of the truly victorious, the connection is called cessation. Individual beings are existence. Individual death is called non-existence. If one looks at the general meaning, one sees different behaviors. If people who desire the Dharma come and ask for meaning, the answer is: and birth is also birth, and cessation is also cessation, and existence is also existence, and non-existence is also non-existence, and increase is also increase, and decrease is also decrease. Thus, in all places, they speak falsely, causing others to lose the meaning of their words. The second type of person, if they truly examine the mind, knows that the middle is a place of non-existence. If people ask about the Dharma, they answer with only one sentence, "There is nothing." They do not say anything other than the word "nothing." The third type of person, if they truly examine the mind, knows that the mind exists in its respective place of existence. If people ask about the Dharma, they answer with only one sentence, "There is." They do not say anything other than that. The fourth type of person sees both existence and non-existence. Because they see two aspects, their own mind is confused. If people ask about the Dharma, they answer: and existence is also existence, and non-existence is also non-existence. In existence there is also non-existence, and in non-existence there is also existence. Thus, at all times, they disturb the minds of others, and even when there is no opportunity to ask questions, they are still lost and without. Because of the confusion of speculation, they fall into the path of non-Buddhists, and the self-nature of Bodhi is also lost. Its name is the nature of the four inversions, entering into the pervasive conduct of immortality, following the inference of the untrue fifth non-Buddhist. Sons of lineage, etc., if in Samadhi, in the Samadhi of single-pointedness on reality without interruption, then the demons are disheartened. If one thinks about profundity and bliss, then the root of the lineage of birth is exhausted, and the basis of the constant disturbance of afflictions is not exhausted, so conceptual thoughts arise. This person has three after death, and thus a reversed mind arises, confused.

Sometimes one thinks, 'Form is me.' Sometimes one sees oneself pervading everything, saying, 'I possess form.' Sometimes one says, 'Manifest conditions follow me.' Sometimes one says, 'Form is under my control.' Sometimes one relates to my actions, thinking that I dwell within form, and saying, 'After death, I possess form.' Likewise, one imagines that sixteen cycles of existence all possess form. After that, one also clings to afflictions, saying, 'Long-lasting afflictions and long-lasting nature are not mutually dependent.' Again, one clings and says that it exists after death, thereby falling into the midst of non-Buddhists, and losing the essence of enlightenment. Its name is the sixth non-Buddhist who, among the five aggregates, establishes the doctrine of having form after death in a perverse way. Furthermore, sons of good family, if a meditator single-mindedly and uninterruptedly focuses on reality,

The seventh heretic who perversely establishes a doctrine saying there is nothing. Furthermore, sons of good families, if in samadhi, one-pointedly and without obstruction, one focuses on reality itself, then the mind of the demon is cut off. The root of the lineage of birth is exhausted. If one contemplates profundity and bliss, because the basis of constantly disturbing afflictions is not exhausted, conceptualization arises. Within the aggregate of formation, that person stops the aggregate of feeling and the aggregate of perception. The characteristics of both existence and non-existence, one destroys the other. After death, there is nothing, and a perverse mind arises. Furthermore, within form, feeling, and perception, one sees existence and non-existence. Formation changes, and because there is no cause, one also thinks it is not non-existence. Likewise, if one contemplates the disease and suffering of the aggregates and elements of samsara, then all eight are without form. Only one condition for cessation is obtained. After death, one says that form exists or does not exist. Furthermore, because the nature of all formations is rising and falling, one generates the thought of manifest realization. Because one thinks that all existence and non-existence of knowledge is non-existent, one is confused and mistaken about reality and non-reality. After death, everything is non-existent. Afterwards, one becomes without desire, and because of thinking, he does not accord with the path, so he falls into heresy. The nature of enlightenment is mistaken. Its name is that within the five aggregates, after death, all future generations are non-existent, and it is the eighth heretic who perversely establishes a doctrine. Furthermore, sons of good families, among all samadhis, enter into the straight and unmoving samadhi. The demon cannot find an opportunity. If one contemplates the male and female of birth, one thinks that there is no final birth, and because of that mistake, one becomes a heretic who holds a nihilistic view. After the body is destroyed, desire also ceases. Suffering also ceases. Extreme joy also ceases. Extreme equanimity also ceases. If one examines carefully up and down, one says that after death, there is no birth at all. The mind of enlightenment is scattered. After death, it is the ninth heretic who perversely sees the five aggregates as being annihilated. Furthermore, sons of good families, in samadhi, one-pointedly on reality itself.
