Those ten great essences are the Dharma gate of entering into the manifestation of the king who delights in manifesting and playing in the manner of the very essence of the Tathāgatas and Bodhisattvas. Then, at that time, the son of the gods named Star Light, having made a great offering to the Blessed One, spoke this verse: Alas! Blessed One, Buddha, inconceivable! Thus Gone One, inconceivable body! For the sake of benefiting sentient beings, also teaches inconceivable, immeasurable sutras! The beginning chapter of entering into the manifestation of the king who delights in manifesting and playing in the manner of the very essence, is called the thirty-sixth chapter. Then, at that time, the son of the gods named Quick-witted, having made a great offering to the Blessed One, bowed with folded palms in the direction of the Blessed One, and sat in the sky as high as seven palm trees, and asked the Blessed One thus: Blessed One, how many sutras are there? How many samādhis are there? How many paths of dhāraṇīs are there? How many entrances to secrets are there? Blessed One, how many Buddhas are living now? How many who have not come are living? How many past Buddhas are there? How many realms of activity of the Buddhas are there? How many world realms are there? Please speak, Gautama! The most excellent of all sentient beings, I ask Gautama, for the sake of benefiting all sentient beings, please speak, chief of the two-legged ones. Then, by the power of the Buddha, the son of the gods named Inexhaustible Essence of Wisdom spoke again in verse to the one named Quick-witted: Great Brahma, well done, well done! For the sake of benefiting all sentient beings, the king of questioners has asked well, this fearlessness is reasonable. The meaning of the questions, in order, the wide-eyed one will explain well, with an undistracted mind, great Brahma, you listen. Each of the sutras has as many meanings of translation as there are grains of sand in the Ganges River, this is what the Buddha said, so it is certain to be shown. The names of the streams of dhāraṇīs, if each one is distinguished, there are many meanings and many questions, this is what the Buddha
