The Noble Great Cloud, called the Great Vehicle Sutra. The Noble Great Cloud, called the Great Vehicle Sutra. In Sanskrit: Arya Mahamegha Nama Mahayana Sutra. In Tibetan: The Noble Great Cloud, called the Great Vehicle Sutra. Volume One. Homage to all the Buddhas, Bodhisattvas, Noble Hearers, and Solitary Buddhas! Thus have I heard. At one time, the Blessed One was in Rajagriha, on Vulture Peak Mountain, together with a great Sangha of nine million eight hundred thousand monks, including the great Elder Kashyapa. They were all Arhats, with defilements exhausted, having attained mastery, without afflictions, possessing great knowledge, like great elephants, their minds utterly liberated, their wisdom utterly liberated, having done what was to be done, having accomplished what was to be accomplished, having cast off their burdens, having attained their own benefit, their minds utterly liberated by perfect knowledge, all bonds to existence completely exhausted, their discipline utterly pure, having reached the supreme shore of all mental mastery, having attained clairvoyance, skilled in clairvoyance, abiding solely in the eight liberations of meditation. Then, the great Elder Kashyapa and the other nine million eight hundred thousand monks, at the time of dawn, arose from their respective dwellings and went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and then sat down to one side, folding their palms in reverence. Also, at that time, the great प्रजावती (梵文天城体：महाप्रजावती，梵文罗马拟音：Mahāprajāvatī，meaning: Great Pajapati) Gautami and the other six million five hundred thousand nuns, also at the time of dawn, arose from their respective dwellings and went to where the Blessed One was. Having arrived, they bowed their heads at the feet of the Blessed One, circumambulated the Blessed One three times, and then sat down to one side, folding their palms in reverence.
