May all sentient beings obtain those necessities that sustain life, and may they be happy, possessing worldly and transworldly bliss. We too should strive for this very purpose, to seek it. We should not generate a mind of stinginess and jealousy towards this, thus we generate the mind. Son of good family, if one possesses these ten dharmas, then the Bodhisattva is one who is free from stinginess and jealousy. Son of good family, if one possesses these ten dharmas, then the Bodhisattva is one who has equanimity towards all sentient beings. What are the ten? They are as follows: To treat all sentient beings with equanimity. To have no mind of anger towards all sentient beings. To have no mind of harm towards all sentient beings. To give alms solely for the benefit of all sentient beings. To uphold moral conduct. To cultivate patience. To exert effort. To meditate on meditation. To cultivate wisdom. Even though one may perfectly accomplish the state of omniscience, it is not accomplished with a mind that dwells on duality, but it is accomplished with a common mind towards all sentient beings, and with focus on all sentient beings. In whatever way one may accomplish it, in that way one accomplishes it so that one may quickly attain the nature of dharma. Those who liberate themselves from the fiercely burning cycle of existence also liberate others. And they liberate with a mind of equanimity, not with a mind of aversion, nor with anger. Son of good family, for example, a merchant or householder has six sons who are beloved, cherished, loved, and pleasing. The merchant or householder loves and treats these sons equally. These sons are young, unable to walk, and not clever. Then, the house of the merchant or householder catches fire, and his sons are each in different places. Son of good family, what do you think? Does the merchant or householder think, 'I will rescue this one first, and then rescue that one later'? The Bodhisattva, with a mind that dispels all obscurations, replied, 'Bhagavan, no.' Why is that? Bhagavan, because the merchant or householder has equanimity towards his sons, he does not differentiate between which and which.

Just like that, just like that, give it as it is. The Blessed One said: Noble son, just as all beings like children are like the sons of Bodhisattvas, but not the noble ones. That Bodhisattva is a child, unclear, not clever, those who dwell in each of the six realms, after being liberated from the prison of samsara, whatever and in whatever way they become fully ripened, just like that, give it as it is. Having taken them out, also completely settle them in the peaceful realm of Nirvana. Noble son, if one possesses these ten dharmas, then the Bodhisattva is one who has equanimity towards all sentient beings. Noble son, if one possesses ten dharmas, then the Bodhisattva is skilled in offering and serving the Tathagata. What are the ten? Noble son, for example, offering the Dharma is offering the Tathagata, it is serving, but not offering material things. Offering with diligence, benefiting and bringing happiness to sentient beings, benefiting and helping sentient beings, acting for the benefit of sentient beings, not abandoning vows, not abandoning the work of the Bodhisattva, acting as spoken, not being completely weary in mind, not abandoning the mind of enlightenment, noble son, this is offering the Tathagatas, it is serving, but not offering material things. Noble son, what is the reason for that? The Tathagatas are the Dharmakaya, offering the Dharma becomes offering the Tathagatas. Noble son, the Tathagatas are perfectly accomplished with diligence, for the benefit and happiness of all sentient beings, benefiting and helping all sentient beings, they are born to do the benefit of sentient beings. Noble son, that benefit of sentient beings, if one abandons vows, turns away from the work of the Bodhisattva, speaks falsely, falls away from what is said, falls away from what is promised, is completely weary in mind, and is separated from the mind of enlightenment, one cannot perfectly attain it. Noble son, what is the reason for that? The unsurpassed, perfect and complete enlightenment of the Bodhisattvas is for sentient beings.
