It depends on the meaning. If sentient beings do not exist, Bodhisattvas cannot attain complete and perfect enlightenment. Therefore, son of good family, offering through Dharma is the same as offering and serving the Tathagatas, not through material offerings, it should be viewed in this way. Son of good family, possessing these ten dharmas, Bodhisattvas are those who are skilled in offering to the Tathagatas and performing service. Son of good family, possessing these ten dharmas, Bodhisattvas are those who have conquered pride. What are the ten? Son of good family, for example, Bodhisattvas manifest renunciation from the household life, and after renouncing, they consider themselves as if separated by death from friends, ministers, relatives, and in-laws, this is conquering pride. I admit that my appearance is ugly, I wear clothes of unpleasant color, and I change my demeanor, this is conquering pride. For the sake of begging for alms, I shave my head, hold a begging bowl in my hand, and go from village to village, this is conquering pride. Like a low-caste person, with a humble mind, I walk for the sake of alms, this is conquering pride. I am an alms-seeker, my life depends on others, this is conquering pride. Accepting despised and inferior alms food, this is conquering pride. I should please the teachers, lamas, and the objects of generosity, this is conquering pride. I should please those who practice the same Brahmacharya as me in this way, that is, through rituals, conduct, and all actions, this is conquering pride. Those Buddha's teachings that have not been attained should be attained, this is conquering pride. Among angry and malicious beings, one should practice much patience, this is conquering pride. 何者是觀看之處？遠離欺騙和虛偽的行為，是那些思想圓滿的人。具有不彎曲的自性，是正直的人。由於根器敏銳，是智慧圓滿的人。由於血統和後裔，是遠離障礙和煩惱的人。遠離罪惡的朋友，是依賴善知識的人。尋求善說，是沒有傲慢的人。 對於教法不持邪見的人。由於對廣大有信心，因此能徹底了解如來的偉大。種姓之子，如果具備這十種法，就是對菩薩有很大信心的人。菩薩遣除一切障礙後祈請道：世尊，我祈請聽聞如來偉大功德的一小部分。世尊開示道：種姓之子，因此我將宣說如來偉大功德的一小部分，好好地、非常仔細地聽，並記在心裡。菩薩遣除一切障礙後回答道：世尊，好的。並如世尊所說般諦聽。世尊如此開示道：種姓之子，如來具有對一切眾生無與倫比的大慈悲。如來如何遍及一個眾生，同樣也遍及所有無餘的眾生界。即使遍及所有眾生界，也遍及虛空界，但仍然無法得知如來大慈悲的邊際。種姓之子，如來具有聲聞、獨覺和所有菩薩所沒有的大悲心。如來如何慈悲一個眾生，同樣也慈悲所有無餘的眾生界，並利益他們。種姓之子，如來具有無盡的說法能力。如來從無數劫到百千無量劫之間，以各種不同的名相和方式，同時為一切眾生說法，但如來的說法卻不會窮盡。

What are the places to look? Those who are free from deceit and hypocrisy are those with perfect minds. Those who have an unbending nature are the upright. Because of their sharp faculties, they are those with perfect wisdom. Because of lineage and descent, they are those who are free from obscurations and afflictions. Those who are separated from sinful friends are those who rely on virtuous friends. Those who seek good speech are those who are without pride. Those who do not hold wrong views on the Dharma. Because of their faith in the vast, they are able to fully understand the greatness of the Tathagata. Son of the family, if you possess these ten qualities, you are a Bodhisattva with great faith. The Bodhisattva, having dispelled all obscurations, requested: "Bhagavan, I beseech you to listen to a small portion of the greatness of the Tathagata." The Bhagavan said: "Son of the family, therefore, I will explain a small portion of the greatness of the Tathagata. Listen well and very carefully, and keep it in mind." The Bodhisattva, having dispelled all obscurations, replied: "Bhagavan, very well." And listened as the Bhagavan said. The Bhagavan said this: "Son of the family, the Tathagata has great love that is unparalleled for all sentient beings. Just as the Tathagata pervades one sentient being, so too does he pervade all the remaining realms of sentient beings. Even though he pervades all the realms of sentient beings, and also pervades the realm of space, there is still no way to know the limit of the Tathagata's great love. Son of the family, the Tathagata has great compassion that is not shared by all the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas. Just as the Tathagata has compassion for one sentient being, so too does he have compassion for all the remaining realms of sentient beings, and benefits them. Son of the family, the Tathagata has inexhaustible ability to teach the Dharma. From countless kalpas to hundreds of thousands of immeasurable kalpas, the Tathagata teaches the Dharma to all sentient beings simultaneously in various different names and ways, but the Tathagata's teaching of the Dharma will never be exhausted."
