Even if there is a slight deficiency, one should completely abandon those things that are not in accordance with the conduct of a renunciate, and maintain a very close mindfulness and abide in them. Thus, a Bodhisattva maintains a very close mindfulness and abides in villages, towns, cities, fields, regions, and around the royal palace. How does a Bodhisattva maintain a very close mindfulness and abide in gains, respect, fame, sounds, and verses? Here, a Bodhisattva should focus on the object of merit of those who give alms, and relinquish attachment to gains and respect. In no way should he become attached, not generate desire, not generate attachment, not make it his own, not regard it as treasure, not hold it as his own, and in every way share it with all sentient beings, thereby benefiting suffering sentient beings. If fame, sounds, and verses arise from these causes, he should not be satisfied by them, not generate pride, not generate arrogance. He should think thus: Before long, from where do these fame, sounds, and verses come, and by what are they destroyed, and all those fame, sounds, and verses themselves will completely disappear. Then, which wise person would generate a mind of joy, be satisfied, or become arrogant with pride and arrogance towards impermanent, unstable, unreliable things? Thus, a Bodhisattva maintains a very close mindfulness and abides in gains, respect, fame, sounds, and verses. How does a Bodhisattva maintain a very close mindfulness and abide in the precepts established by the Tathagata? Here, a Bodhisattva should think thus: All the past Tathagatas also learned this discipline, thereby attaining complete perfect enlightenment and passing into nirvana. All those who have not yet come and will appear will also learn this discipline, thereby attaining complete perfect enlightenment and passing into nirvana.

O! Those present Tathagatas also attained perfect and complete enlightenment by learning this very discipline. Believing in this way that they are completely liberated from suffering, they diligently practice the disciplines, striving, doing good deeds, and perfecting them completely. In this way, the Bodhisattva keeps the precepts established by the Tathagata with great mindfulness and abides in them. Son of good family, how does the Bodhisattva keep all the near afflictions, complete afflictions, and all defilements in mind with great mindfulness and abide in them? Here, the Bodhisattva is mindful of the near afflictions, is mindful of the complete afflictions and all defilements, and fully understands from where they arise and the basis of what causes them to arise. Having understood in this way, he completely abandons those causes and conditions of arising. Son of good family, in this way, the Bodhisattva is able to keep all the near afflictions, complete afflictions, and all defilements in mind with great mindfulness and abide in them. Son of good family, if one possesses these ten dharmas, the Bodhisattva will always maintain equanimity of mind without interruption. The Noble Mahayana Sutra called "Precious Cloud", Volume Six. Son of good family, if one possesses ten dharmas, the Bodhisattva is one who holds a duster. What are the ten? Namely: those who are steadfast in what is rightly undertaken, those who are not of low mind, those who are completely unwearied, those who are not attached to it, those who are free from wrong views, those who hold virtuous views, those who do not praise themselves, those who do not slander others, those who are endowed with perfect morality, and those whom the gods gather. Son of good family, how does the Bodhisattva remain steadfast in what is rightly undertaken, up to the point where the gods gather? Son of good family, here, the Bodhisattva has faith and perfect intention, and has faith and trust in the Tathagatas. Even for the sake of his life, he will not waver from what is rightly undertaken, nor will he change from what is rightly undertaken, he rightly undertakes

With a firm position, possessing perfect intention, that is humble and without arrogance. Because of being without arrogance and humble, one collects those discarded rags that are completely abandoned, those (rags) that are incompatible with everyone. After collecting those, one washes them. While washing, mending, repairing, and sewing, one is completely without affliction and completely without weariness. Because of being completely without weariness, one does not become attached to it, except for how much meaning can be accomplished. Alas, these old rags are tattered! Alas, these old rags are coarse! Alas, these old rags have many lice, which cause discomfort to the body and make one sweat, but one should not view their faults in this way. These old rags are divided by the noble ones. They are in accordance with detachment. They are in accordance with the lineage of the noble ones. They are praised by the Tathagatas. They are extolled by the Tathagatas. Thus, one views the virtues of those old rags, not praising its cause, its condition, its owner. One does not slander others. Because one is free from praising oneself and slandering others, one possesses perfect discipline. Because of perfect discipline, the gods gather. They are praised by the Tathagatas. They are sought by the Bodhisattvas. They are protected by humans and non-humans. They are revered by Brahmins, royal castes, villagers, and local people. They are praised by those who practice Brahmacharya. Son of the lineage, if one possesses these ten dharmas, then one is a Bodhisattva rag-wearer. The Bodhisattva, eliminating all obscurations, prays: O Bhagavan, what is the purpose of engaging in inferior conduct for Bodhisattvas with vast minds? The Bhagavan replied: Son of the lineage, Bodhisattvas are in accord with the minds of the world. Those who have attained the power of strength act in accordance with the world, but those who have not attained the power of strength do not. Son of the lineage, a Bodhisattva who has not attained the power of strength should rely on the antidote to prevent afflictions from arising. Furthermore,
