It is because of becoming equal to all. On the second ground, Bodhisattvas, because of the complete purification of morality, attain a completely pure body. On the third ground, Bodhisattvas, because of being free from anger and all harmful thoughts, attain a flawless body. On the fourth ground, Bodhisattvas, because of the complete accomplishment of the Buddha's teachings, attain a well-accomplished body. On the fifth ground, Bodhisattvas, because of thoroughly understanding all dharmas, attain the Dharma body. On the sixth ground, because of the complete accomplishment of the Dharma that is not to be examined and is difficult to fathom, one attains a body that is not to be examined and is difficult to fathom. On the seventh ground, because of the complete accomplishment of the Buddha's teachings and skillful means, one attains an inconceivable body. On the eighth ground, because of being free from all elaborations and without afflictions, one attains a peaceful body. On the ninth ground, because the body pervades immeasurably, one attains a body equal to space. On the tenth ground, Bodhisattvas attain the body of wisdom. What is the reason for that? It is because all that is to be known has been completely accomplished. Bodhisattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin asked: Blessed One, what is the dharmata of the body of the Tathagata? Is there a difference between the dharmata of the body of the Bodhisattva? The Blessed One said: Son of good family, there is no difference because the bodies are different. However, there is a difference because of the power of qualities. Bodhisattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin asked: Blessed One, how is it that there is no difference because the bodies are different, but there is a difference because of the power of qualities? The Blessed One said: Son of good family, body, what is called body, this is without difference. What is the reason for that? It is because the characteristic of what is called body is the same. The characteristics of qualities and power are seen as different. Bodhisattva Sarvanivaranaviskambhin asked: Blessed One, how should the characteristics of the power of qualities be seen as different? The Blessed One said: Son of good family, therefore, in order to understand the essence of this meaning, I will give you an example. Son of good family,

For example, an unpolished jewel and a polished jewel are like this: a jewel is called a jewel and is counted among jewels, but an unpolished jewel cannot pervade everything with its power and pleasantness like a polished jewel. Similarly, the body jewel of a Bodhisattva, together with the body jewel of a Tathagata, is counted among the Dharma nature of the body of a Tathagata, but the body jewel of a Bodhisattva cannot be called completely pure in the presence of the body jewel of a Tathagata. Why is that? Because the body jewel of a Tathagata exists pervading the immeasurable realm of sentient beings and the immeasurable realm of space with light. Why is that? Because it is extremely pure and free from all defilements. The body jewel of a Bodhisattva cannot pervade everything like that. Why is that? Because it still has remnants of defilements. Son of good family, for example, the moon on the second day of the lunar month is counted among moons, and the moon until the full moon is also counted among moons, but the moon on the second day is not like the full moon. Why is that? Because it has attained Dharma nature. Son of good family, similarly, the body of a Bodhisattva and the body of a Tathagata are both counted among bodies, but the body of a Bodhisattva does not appear bright, blended, or clear in the presence of the body of a Tathagata. Son of good family, for example, just as the moon on the second day is in the presence of the full moon, so too are the body of a Tathagata and the body of a Bodhisattva, although they share the same characteristic of being called bodies, they do not share the characteristic of the power of merit. Son of good family, if one possesses ten qualities, the body of a Bodhisattva will be as firm as a diamond. What are the ten? They are:

That is, they are not shaken by desire, hatred, and ignorance. They are not shaken by anger, harsh words of harmful intent, defilements, arrogance, pride, haughtiness, and inverted views. They are not shaken by the eight worldly dharmas. They are not shaken by all the sufferings of the lower realms. They are not shaken by the sufferings of sentient beings. They are not shaken by the sufferings of birth, old age, sickness, and death. They are not shaken by all non-Buddhists and opponents. They are not shaken by all demons and all gods belonging to the class of demons. They are not shaken by all Shravakas and Pratyekabuddhas. They are not shaken by all those who indulge in desires. Son of good family, if you possess these ten qualities, a Bodhisattva's body is as hard as a diamond. Son of good family, if you possess ten qualities, a Bodhisattva is a great leader. What are the ten? That is, like this: They are the ones who are respected. They are the ones who deserve offerings. They are the ones who make it through. They are the ones who should be firm. They are the ones who should be closely attended to. They are the ones who have extremely abundant provisions. They are the ones who have accumulated extremely vast collections. They are the ones who are not satisfied. They are the ones who go first. They are the ones who are skilled at going to the great city of omniscience. Son of good family, how is it that a Bodhisattva is respected, and how is it that he is skilled at going to the great city of omniscience? Son of good family, for example, a great leader is respected by kings and ministers of great kings. Similarly, a Bodhisattva, a great leader, is also respected by the Buddhas and the Shravakas of the Buddhas. Son of good family, for example, a great leader is worthy of offerings from Brahmins, Kshatriyas, townspeople, and villagers. Similarly, a Bodhisattva, a great leader, is also worthy of offerings from those who are learning, those who are not learning, and also from gods, nagas, yakshas, gandharvas, and gods.
