Hearing the various ways in which the Tathagata speaks is true. This is the only truth. This is not deceptive. Why is that? Because for the sake of taming, the Tathagata thinks, 'I will teach the Dharma to sentient beings according to their faith.' In this place, there is no doubt, no hesitation. Thus, the Bodhisattva develops great faith in the various manifestations. How does the Bodhisattva develop great faith in the profound sound of the Tathagata's voice? He thinks like this: Hearing the profound sound of the Tathagata's voice is true. This is the only truth. This is not deceptive. Why is that? Because even the voices of the sons of gods with small roots of virtue are deep and melodious, what need is there to mention the Tathagatas who have accumulated roots of virtue for hundreds of thousands of kalpas? In this place, there is no doubt, no hesitation. Thus, the Bodhisattva develops great faith in the profound sound of the Tathagata's voice. Son of good family, how does the Bodhisattva develop great faith in the Tathagata's taming of sentient beings according to their thoughts? He thinks like this: The Tathagata knows the thoughts and latent tendencies of sentient beings. For sentient beings with different inclinations and different ways of taming, by speaking one voice of Dharma, he cuts off their doubts and fully matures them, thus truly taming sentient beings. Each sentient being thinks that the Tathagata is teaching the Dharma to me, the Tathagata is teaching the Dharma to me, but the Tathagata is non-conceptual and does not make distinctions. Hearing these is true. This is the only truth. This is not deceptive. In this place, there is no doubt, no hesitation. Son of good family, thus the Bodhisattva develops great faith in the Tathagata's taming of sentient beings according to their thoughts. Son of good family, possessing these ten qualities, the Bodhisattva is one who has no doubts. Son of good family, possessing these ten qualities, the Bodhisattva is one whose wisdom is like the ocean. What are these ten? They are like: becoming a source of jewels. Profound and difficult to measure.

They are vast and immeasurable. They are gradually approaching. They do not dwell together with the corpses of afflictions. They are of the same taste. They are all-encompassing of rivers. They do not transgress the seasons. They are the abode of many beings. They are inexhaustible. Son of the lineage, how then does a Bodhisattva become the source of jewels, and how is it inexhaustible? Son of the lineage, for example, the great ocean is the source of all jewels, and even if all the people of Jambudvipa take jewels, it will not be exhausted. Similarly, the Bodhisattva is also the source of all qualities and jewels, and even if all sentient beings take qualities and jewels, it will not be exhausted. Son of the lineage, for example, the great ocean is deep and difficult to fathom. Similarly, the Bodhisattva's wisdom, perfectly accomplished, is also deep, difficult for all sentient beings to fathom, and profound. Son of the lineage, for example, the great ocean is such that because the water is immeasurable, it is vast and extensive. Similarly, the Bodhisattva is also such that because wisdom is immeasurable, it is vast and extensive. Son of the lineage, for example, the great ocean gradually approaches. Gradually flows. Gradually descends. Similarly, the Bodhisattva also approaches all-knowing wisdom, flows into all-knowing wisdom, and descends upon all-knowing wisdom. Son of the lineage, for example, the great ocean does not dwell together with corpses. Why is that? That is the nature of the great ocean. Similarly, the Bodhisattva also does not dwell together with the corpses of afflictions and unwholesome friends. Why is that? That is the nature of the Bodhisattva. Son of the lineage, for example, the rivers that flow into the great ocean, no matter how many there are, they are all of the same taste, like the taste of salt. Similarly, the white dharmas accumulated by the Bodhisattva, no matter how many there are, they are all of the same taste, like the taste of all-knowing wisdom. Son of the lineage, for example,
