One should not seek the wisdom of a solitary realizer, nor should one seek the wisdom of a pratyekabuddha, but one should seek the unsurpassed wisdom. As long as countless sentient beings like the sands of the Ganges have not been liberated from suffering, until then, I will not attain this supreme enlightenment. Only then will one attain supreme enlightenment. Son, you should treat all sentient beings with equality, generating such compassion. All the virtuous deeds and constant merits you have done, you should dedicate to the supreme enlightenment and the noble ones. In order to completely liberate sentient beings from the fire of afflictions, one should endure unbearable suffering. One should practice generosity, discipline, and morality, there is no doubt that one will attain perfect Buddhahood. When I have not yet attained supreme enlightenment, you will become the benefactor of sentient beings. I have prophesied that you will attain supreme enlightenment, and I firmly abide in this vow. Son of the lineage, at that time, in the presence of the Tathagata Power Crown Banner King, I made such a vow: For as long as I am in samsara, for that long, I will practice asceticism, practice austerities, practice generosity, discipline, morality, meditation, listening, renunciation, and various advices. I will become accustomed to practicing austerities and various forms of complete renunciation. When the lifespan of beings is a hundred years, in those lands that are completely obscured by afflictions and the defilements of afflictions, I will attain unsurpassed perfect enlightenment there, and I will also demonstrate the unsurpassed lord of the glorious position there. For his teachings, I will become the unsurpassed benefactor of resources such as food and drink. There, I will offer various foods and drinks to Shakyamuni Buddha and his retinue. The impure, the harsh, the uncompassionate, the ungrateful, the unequal, the reckless in conduct, those with sinful minds, cause untimely drizzles, heat, cold, and heavy rains to fall, making the grains, fruits, crops, medicines, trees, and flavors of sentient beings bad, stealing their radiance, depriving sentient beings of their enjoyment and use, and plunging them into darkness. All of these I shall avert with the power of merit and the strength of wisdom. I believe! Second Chapter. When those sentient beings are deprived of enjoyment and use, those sentient beings will engage in the ten non-virtuous actions, and the ten virtuous dharmas will completely decline. Thus, the disciples of the Blessed One, not possessing the lineage and resources of the teachings and the Three Jewels, will become unknown. Therefore, I shall fully mature sentient beings into unsurpassed perfect enlightenment with the cause of abundant enjoyment and use of resources. When I make this aspiration before the Blessed One, in the future, when I have fulfilled my wish in this way, the Blessed One will say, "Well done." Then, having fulfilled my wish as I had aspired, the Tathagata Power Crown Banner King praised, "Well done, well done, son of good family, you have made such an aspiration." Son of good family, I bestow upon you the Dharani called "Essence of the Wealth-Creating Water Treasury." With this essence of the Dharani, can you make sentient beings extremely mature in such a way?
