It is, but it is not good. It is not very good. Kungawo, those who despise this sutra, also despise the Dharma. Kungawo, furthermore, even if one were to exhort those who despise this sutra, it would not change anything. Why is that? Like this, those foolish beings are not truly diligent. When exhorting them, they neither understand their own minds nor their own situation. Because they do not understand these, they will not accept the exhortation. Kungawo, furthermore, how could there be contempt for the Tathagata or contempt for the Dharma here? The Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are not despised by the nature of Dharma. Kungawo, those foolish beings, because they have completely fallen away from untrue dharmas, will despise themselves. Where would there be contempt for the Tathagata or contempt for the Dharma? Kungawo, the Tathagata has realized the Dharma without contempt, and the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, are without contempt. Kungawo, therefore, in order not to despise or slander the Buddha's teachings, one should realize these dharmas. Then, the Bhagavat spoke to Manjushri, who had become a youth: Manjushri, beyond countless immeasurable and inconceivable realms from here, there is a world called Moon Excellent Light, where dwells a Tathagata, Arhat, Samyaksambuddha named Lotus Manifest Excellent Light Play. Manjushri, that Tathagata's world is filled with lotuses made of the seven precious jewels. Those Bodhisattvas emerge from the center of those lotuses in a seated posture. Moreover, light emanates from those lotuses. Those Bodhisattvas emanate emanations from those lights, emanating countless emanations, and they also teach the Dharma through emanations. Manjushri, those lights illuminate sixty Ganges sand-like worlds with light.

For example, in autumn, the sky is clear and without impurities, without rain clouds. On the fifteenth night of the waxing moon, the moon's halo is without clouds, and the moonlight shines everywhere, at that time, it illuminates the entire Jambudvipa, very vast. Manjushri, similarly, this world of Moon Excellent Radiance also shines in all directions, very vast. Similarly, the east and the south, the west and the north, similarly, the above and similarly, the below and similarly, the intermediate directions and similarly, in the ten directions, also illuminates sixty times the number of Ganges sands. Manjushri, therefore, the name of this Saha world is called Moon Excellent Radiance. Manjushri, the Tathagata arises from the crown of the head of the Dharma speaker, and from those lotuses, light arises, illuminating this three-thousand-great-thousand world. From those lights also arise Buddha bodies, and those Buddha bodies also offer lotuses to the Tathagata. Completely offered. Manjushri, those offered lotuses also abide on the body of the Tathagata. Manjushri, like this, the Bhagavan, due to his past aspirations, the Bhagavan is called Lotus Manifestation Excellent. Manjushri, from then on, I said to the Tathagata Lotus Manifestation Excellent Radiance Playful One: Tathagata Lotus Manifestation Excellent Radiance Playful One, where do you abide to attain unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment? After saying this, he said to me: Where do the past and future minds abide to attain enlightenment, I abide there, and I attained unsurpassed, perfect, complete enlightenment. Manjushri asked: Bhagavan, where do the past and future minds abide? The Buddha replied: Manjushri, the so-called past mind, it is unborn. Manjushri, the so-called future mind, it is also unborn. The so-called present mind, it is also unborn. Whatever is unborn, that is the Tathagatagarbha Bodhi.

for the sake of seeing, that is enlightenment. Manjushri, for example, the illusion of the past does not exist, nor does the future, nor does the present, being empty in its own nature and separate from its own nature. Manjushri, similarly, any past mind is unborn, any future mind is also unborn, and any present mind is also unborn; such is enlightenment. Manjushri, enlightenment is neither past, nor future, nor present; Manjushri, such is enlightenment. Manjushri, in this way, enlightenment is neither existent, Manjushri, nor is enlightenment non-existent. Manjushri, similarly, all dharmas are both enlightenment, and all dharmas are also not non-enlightenment. End of the Third Chapter Then, the householder captain Good, the householder Pure Conduct, the householder Naga Joy, the householder Unholding, the householder Ear Ornament, the householder Jewel in Topknot, the householder Full Ear, the householder Meaning Accomplished, the householder Jewel Step, and all those householders addressed the Blessed One, saying: "Blessed One, the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, have no physical obstacles, and the Buddhas, the Blessed Ones, possess eyes of loving-kindness, which is wonderful. During these three months, with how many Tathagatas did the Blessed One engage in discussions of the Tathagata, and in what manner?" After they had spoken thus, the Blessed One said to those householders: "Householders, the characteristics of a Buddha are immeasurable; let it go." Then those householders addressed the Blessed One, saying: "Blessed One, for this category of Dharma of the Tathagata's discourse, with how many Tathagatas did the Blessed One engage in discourse, and is it appropriate to illustrate it with examples?" The Blessed One replied: "Householders, examining and deeply believing in the wisdom of the Buddha can be done through examples, for the wise, those with strong faith, those who have subdued pride, and the intel-
