When Manjushri Kumara appeared, the son of the gods, Light Banner, praised him, saying: Manjushri, good! Good! He also said: Manjushri, it is good that you have explained abiding in mindfulness. Manjushri said: Son of the gods, do not think like that. You praise with the Dharma that is unborn, unmanifest, and unshown. Son of the gods, how can one speak or express the steadfastness of abiding in mindfulness? Why is that? Because all dharmas are unspeakable, all dharmas are unspeakable. Why is that? Because there is no speech, therefore they are unspeakable. The son of the gods, Light Banner, asked: Manjushri, abiding in what place does the attachment, hatred, and delusion of all ordinary beings like children arise? Abiding in what place does the attachment, hatred, and delusion of all ordinary beings like children arise? Manjushri said: Son of the gods, if all ordinary beings like children abide in the place of non-existence, attachment, hatred, and delusion will arise. Abiding in the Dharmadhatu, abiding in the ultimate reality, abiding in Suchness, the attachment, hatred, and delusion of all ordinary beings like children will arise. Why is that? Because no Dharma can be explained apart from the Dharmadhatu, Suchness, and the ultimate reality. He asked: Manjushri, what is the synonym for what is called the ultimate reality? He replied: Son of the gods, what is called the ultimate reality is the synonym for the limit of sentient beings. He asked: Manjushri, what is the synonym for what is called the limit of sentient beings? It is the synonym for the limit of self. He asked: Manjushri, what is the synonym for what is called the limit of self? He replied: It is the synonym for the limit of samsara. He asked: Manjushri, what is the synonym for what is called the limit of samsara? He replied: It is the synonym for space. Son of the gods, it is like this: for example, the realm of space has no end, no cessation, no length, no shortness.

Without corners, without roundness, without squareness, without fineness, without thickness, without flatness, without whiteness, without blackness, without redness. Otherwise, it is merely counted as a name, "space, space," and that name is also a fabrication. Son of the gods, likewise, all dharmas are the limit of space, the realm of space, the nature of the name of space. Son of the gods, for example, space is not born, does not age, does not die, does not arise, is not afflicted, does not appear white, has no attachment, has no hatred, has no respect, and has no disrespect. By its limit, all dharmas are to be counted in an uncountable manner. Son of the gods, because it is unassignable, all dharmas are shown to be assembled and separated, and cannot be established. Son of the gods, all dharmas are unexamined, untamed, and not sacred. Son of the gods, this is the equality of all dharmas, not non-equality, it is suchness, non-inverted suchness. When this teaching was taught, all those sons of the gods generated forbearance towards the dharma of non-arising. Having obtained forbearance towards the dharma of non-arising, out of respect for the dharma, they scattered heavenly mandārava flowers upon the one who had become Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta. As soon as those flowers were scattered, by the blessing of the one who had become Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta, they remained in the space above, without abiding and without being completely scattered. Then, Mañjuśrī, having become Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta, said this to the son of the gods, Light Banner: Son of the gods, what do you think? Where do these flowers abide? He replied: Mañjuśrī, these flowers do not abide anywhere. He said: Son of the gods, likewise, all dharmas do not abide, they abide in space without abiding, and they are not higher than space, they do not fall, they do not move, they do not completely move, they do not scatter, they do not completely scatter. Why is that? Because all those dharmas are the same as space, therefore they do not move, they do not completely move, they do not scatter, they do not completely scatter. Then, the son of the gods, Light Banner, said this to Mañjuśrī, having become Mañjuśrī Kumārabhūta: Mañjuśrī, you have obtained the power of magical abilities and miracles, with one thought you can go and come to immeasurable billions of hundreds of thousands of nayutas of buddha-fields in the ten directions.

Amazing! Manjushri said: Son of the gods, I have not obtained the power of miraculous abilities and wonders, nor am I a Shravaka of the Buddhas, the Bhagavat. Why is that? Because those are inexhaustible and without end. Son of the gods, all ordinary beings like children have obtained the wonders of miraculous power. Why is that? Because, son of the gods, all Buddhas, all Bodhisattvas, all Shravakas, and all Pratyekabuddhas, even if they seek for countless kalpas, have not attained any Dharma. They have not attained it, and they will not attain it. All ordinary beings like children have attained it. What have they attained? They have attained self. They have attained sentient beings, life, the born, the nurturer, the person, the power-born, the power-child, annihilation, permanence, desire, hatred, and ignorance. Because those Dharmas that the Buddhas have not attained and have not produced, they produce. Son of the gods, therefore, ordinary beings like children have obtained the power of miraculous abilities, but not the Buddhas, not the Bodhisattvas, not the Pratyekabuddhas, not the Shravakas. Then, those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, having extensively explained the categories of Dharma concerning the Buddha's debates, each went to their own Buddha-field. Then, the Tathagata Entering Desire King thought to himself: I should observe whether Manjushri, who has become a youth, will come to this Buddha-field. Then, the Tathagata Entering Desire King released the previous blessing, and from the palm of his right hand emitted a golden-colored ray of light, blessing that light in such a way that it would touch the body of Manjushri, circle it seven times, and then sink into the crown of Manjushri's head. Then, Manjushri, who had become a youth, thought to himself: What is the cause, what is the condition, that such an inconceivable appearance touched my body and disappeared into the crown of my head? Then he thought again: The Tathagata Entering Desire King wishes to see me.
