Therefore, a Bodhisattva abiding in the third Bodhisattva ground should be completely purified and completely perfected. A Bodhisattva abiding in the fourth Bodhisattva ground should not abandon ten dharmas. What are the ten? Namely, abiding in a solitary place, having few desires, being content, not abandoning the qualities of discipline already acquired, not abandoning the precepts, abiding in a place of taming, denouncing the qualities of desire, generating the mind of enlightenment accompanied by weariness, giving up all possessions without shrinking the mind, and not looking at all things. These ten dharmas are what a Bodhisattva abiding in the fourth Bodhisattva ground should not abandon. A Bodhisattva abiding in the fifth Bodhisattva ground should completely abandon twelve dharmas. What are the twelve? Namely: associating with householders, associating with nuns, being attached to lineage, the mind of miserliness, places of bustle, the mind of harming, fighting, slandering, quarreling, arguing, praising oneself, disparaging others, abandoning the ten paths of unwholesome actions, abandoning great pride and arrogance, abandoning perverted views, abandoning doubt, and being tolerant of desire, hatred, and ignorance. These twelve dharmas are what a Bodhisattva abiding in the fifth Bodhisattva ground should completely abandon. Furthermore, a Bodhisattva abiding in the sixth ground should completely perfect six dharmas. What are the six? Namely, the six perfections. Furthermore, there are six dharmas that should not be done. What are the six? Namely: one should not generate the mind of a Hearer, one should not generate the mind of a Solitary Buddha, one should not generate the mind of weariness, upon seeing beggars one should not generate a shrinking mind, after giving everything away one should not be displeased, and one should not generate a mind of harming beings. These six dharmas should not be done. Furthermore, a Bodhisattva abiding in the seventh ground should not do twenty dharmas. What are the twenty? Namely: clinging to self, clinging to sentient beings, clinging to life, clinging to person, clinging to annihilation, clinging to permanence.

Furthermore, that Bodhisattva should perfect twenty things. What are the twenty? They are: realizing emptiness, actualizing signlessness, wisdom without aspiration, the three circles being completely pure, loving and compassionate to all sentient beings, not despising those sentient beings, seeing all dharmas as equality, truly understanding the way, obtaining forbearance of non-arising dharmas, teaching one aspect, destroying concepts, reversing perceptions, reversing afflictions, calm abiding, and the ground of insight, taming the mind, pacifying the mind, knowing without aspiration, not being attached to friendship, having equanimity towards all sentient beings, these twenty things should be perfected. Furthermore, a Bodhisattva abiding on the eighth Bodhisattva ground should do four things. What are the four? They are causing all sentient beings to enter into equanimity of mind, transforming through clairvoyance, showing the Buddha-field and that is the perfection of his view, honoring and serving the Buddha and contemplating the Buddha's body. The Bodhisattva should do these four things. Furthermore, the Bodhisattva should do four things. What are the four? They are knowing superior faculties and, non-superior faculties and, purifying the Buddha-field and, repeatedly and equally abiding in the realms in the illusion-like samadhi, and just as sentient beings desire, just so I will emanate bodies and deliberately take birth in existence. A Bodhisattva abiding on the eighth Bodhisattva ground should perfect these four things. Furthermore, the Bodhi
