Other actions are similar to this. Just as those young and ignorant people contemplate the dharmas, thinking that these dharmas are bad, these are mediocre, and these are excellent. Although they think like this, in reality they do not generate discriminating thoughts about the nature of the dharmas, they do not discriminate, nor do they make distinctions. Son of good family, for example, a woman who generates the idea of existence for something that does not exist, and she separately contemplates it and clings to it. Similarly, son of good family, some monks, nuns, laymen, and laywomen, they know all dharmas as being like images, and then say: 'We should not be attached to forms.' Similarly, we should not be attached to sounds, smells, tastes, textures, and dharmas. We should practice discipline.' They say this, but in reality they generate the idea of existence for something that does not exist, and although it does not exist, they separately contemplate it and cling to it, and they are happy because of it, praising themselves and belittling others. Those who do this should also be regarded as similar to this. Do not say: 'I am cultivating the path for those foolish people.' Because those people are called the wrong path. Son of good family, for example, there is a woman who wants to have a child, and because she has lost her memory, she vows: 'I do not want a child.' At this time, another woman, in order to protect her mind, knowingly says: 'You will have a handsome, beautiful, and attractive child. Therefore, please do not make such a vow.' Then, the woman who wants to have a child listens to the woman's words, and because she has lost her memory, she generates hope in her heart, thinking: 'I will have a handsome, beautiful, and attractive child.' Her mind is deluded, deluded by that idea, but in reality the child has neither been born, nor will be born, nor will be born in the future. Similarly, son of good family, the Tathagata, knowing that all dharmas are like the child of that woman who wants to have a child, but in order to conform to the world, he will make two kinds of teachings: In the past, you

Now, the name will be this. The lineage will be this. The clan will be this. The color will become like this. The food will be like this. The duration will be this long. Happiness and suffering will be experienced like this. The end of life will become this long. In the future, it will become like this. The name will be called this. The lineage will be this. The clan will be this. The color will become like this. The food will be eaten like this. The duration will be this long. Happiness and suffering will be experienced like this. The end of life will become this long. Similarly, now, when it appears, the name is called this. The lineage is this. The clan is this. The color is like this. The food is eaten like this. The duration is this long. Happiness and suffering are experienced like this. The end of life can last this long. Thus it is shown. Son of the lineage, for example, Mosham, through his own examination, expects with the perception of a son, but that son is of the nature of non-arising. Because it is of the nature of non-arising, it is of the nature of non-cessation. Because it is of the nature of non-cessation, it is of the nature of non-manifestation. Son of the lineage, similarly, all forms are of the nature of non-arising by the very nature of form. Because it is of the nature of non-arising, it is of the nature of non-cessation. Because it is of the nature of non-cessation, it is of the nature of non-manifestation. All feelings, all perceptions, all formations, and all consciousnesses are also the same, being of the nature of non-arising by the very nature of consciousness. Because it is of the nature of non-arising, it is of the nature of non-cessation. Because it is of the nature of non-cessation, it is of the nature of non-manifestation. Those who do not understand the nature of Dharma in this way are not those who have truly entered. Do not say, "I meditate on the path for those foolish people," for those are wrongly entered. Those who understand the Dharmas in this way are those who have truly entered. Those are the ones who abide on the path. Those are the ones who do not waver from the path.
