From there, one does not know whether it is affliction or purification. Those who know the nature of all dharmas do not grasp any dharma as either a defiled dharma or a purified dharma. Since there is no grasping of defiled or purified dharmas, how can there be an object of defiled or purified dharmas? That is impossible. Son of the gods, in this way, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva practices in the profound realm. Because he sees that there is no dharma that is not the Buddha's dharma, and with the wisdom to see this, he also sees that he sees nothing. A Bodhisattva who sees in this way cannot be obstructed by Mara or the gods of Mara's retinue. After he spoke, the son of the gods, Chandra, said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, the Bodhisattva Mahasattva can also closely realize such dharmas and also begin to take birth. Birth and death, and being born again after death, are truly wondrous! The Blessed One said: Son of the gods, for example, the illusion created by a magician can come, go, sit, lie down, and speak, but in reality, he has no discriminating thoughts. Son of the gods, whoever knows all dharmas to be like illusions also shows all coming and going and birth, but in reality, he has no discriminating thoughts. Son of the gods, the Bodhisattva does not pride himself on birth and appearance, but is born through the blessings of the past. After he spoke, the son of the gods, Chandra, said to the Blessed One: Blessed One, you just said that the Bodhisattva does not pride himself on birth and appearance. Blessed One, the Tathagata was born from the goddess Maya, and in order to have compassion for the mother who gave birth to his body, he agreed to spend the summer retreat in the Trayastrimsa heavens. How can the Tathagata not pride himself? He said: Son of the gods, the Tathagata was not born from the goddess Maya. He reported: Then from where was the Tathagata born? He said: Son of the gods, the Tathagata

is born from the Perfection of Wisdom. Sons of the gods, those who say that the Perfection of Wisdom is the mother who gives birth to all Buddhas, the Bhagavat, speak truly. To say that the Perfection of Wisdom is the mother who gives birth to the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, of the past, future, and present is to speak truly. Why is that? Sons of the gods, the thirty-two marks of a great man are not born from the goddess of illusion. Sons of the gods, the thirty-two marks of a great man are manifestly accomplished by training in the Perfection of Wisdom. Sons of the gods, these ten powers of the Thus-Gone One are not born from the goddess of illusion. The ten powers of the Thus-Gone One are manifestly accomplished by training in the Perfection of Wisdom. Sons of the gods, these four fearlessnesses of the Thus-Gone One are not born from the goddess of illusion. The eighteen unshared qualities of a Buddha, great love, great compassion, great joy, great equanimity, the invisible crown of the head, the purposeful departure, the Buddha's eye, the Buddha's wisdom, the Buddha's distinct perfect knowledge, knowing the minds of others, sons of the gods, in short, whatever qualities of the Buddha that belong to the category of Thus-Gone One and Thus-Gone One, those are not born from the goddess of illusion. Sons of the gods, in that way, whatever immeasurable qualities of the Buddha that belong to the category of Thus-Gone One and Thus-Gone One, those are accomplished by practicing the Perfection of Wisdom and manifestly accomplished by training in the Perfection of Wisdom. Sons of the gods, through these categories, you should also understand that the Thus-Gone One is born from the Perfection of Wisdom and not from the goddess of illusion. The Second Chapter. Then the son of the gods, Moon, said this to the Bhagavat: Bhagavat, if the Perfection of Wisdom

Then, Blessed One, if no dharma produces, creates, or prevents, how does the Perfection of Wisdom create the Thus-Gone One, Blessed One? The Blessed One said: Son of the gods, those dharmas by which the Thus-Gone One is numbered as the Thus-Gone One, those dharmas have no birth, no death, and no arising. Son of the gods, whatever has no birth, no death, and no arising, the wisdom of such is produced by the Perfection of Wisdom. From the Perfection of Wisdom, the Thus-Gone One who has no birth, no death, and no arising is born. Son of the gods, whatever has no birth, no death, and no arising, that is because there is the Perfection of Wisdom that there is true liberation, but without the Perfection of Wisdom, there is no liberation. Asked. Blessed One, if there is wisdom, there is liberation, then does that wisdom have thought or seeking? The Blessed One said: Son of the gods, wisdom has no thought or knowledge. Son of the gods, if wisdom were to have thought or knowledge, then there would be no constant liberation from wisdom. Why is that? Son of the gods, if there is thought or feeling, then there is nothing to be liberated from. Son of the gods, because the Perfection of Wisdom has no thought and no knowledge, therefore wisdom is always liberating. Asked. Blessed One, what is the synonym for liberation? The Blessed One said: Son of the gods, it is a synonym for non-elaboration. Asked. Blessed One, without elaboration, what is liberated? The Blessed One said: Son of the gods, those who engage in elaboration do not abandon birth in the three realms. Those who do not engage in elaboration abandon birth in the three realms. Son of the gods, therefore, when you say what does liberation without elaboration liberate, it liberates birth in the three realms. Asked. Blessed One, how does the Blessed One completely transcend the three realms?
