Then, the Venerable Great Maudgalyayana was greatly astonished, and when he observed the Northern Kuru Continent with supernormal powers, there too he saw the Tathagata together with a great Sangha of monks going for alms in the Northern Kuru Continent. He saw them eating and abiding after receiving alms. There too he saw monks like himself, and also great Sravakas who were not himself. Then, the Venerable Great Maudgalyayana observed the Eastern Videha Continent with supernormal powers, and there too he saw the Tathagata teaching the Dharma and abiding in the midst of a great assembly of people. There too he saw monks like himself, and also great Sravakas who were not himself. Similarly, in the Western Godaniya Continent, he also saw the Tathagata abiding in true absorption in meditation, with thousands of creatures bowing and sitting.
