Elsewhere, not even a single step will remain. There, there are precious jewels, and other bad things as well. Similarly, wherever the benefit is shown, manifestly, at the time of its arising, from the southern path, sutras such as these will come, and having come, they will go to their presence, but will not remain in other directions. The chapter of the Great Noble Drum. Volume Three. There, other upright sutras endowed with the chapter of emptiness will arise, and if there is a teacher there, he will remain there. Moreover, if a wheel-turning king goes to another place, then whatever beings serve the king there will think, "We too will go where the king has gone." Similarly, wherever the benefit is shown to arise, sutras such as these will arise there. For example, when a wheel-turning king arises, the seven precious jewels will arise. Similarly, when the benefit is shown to arise, sutras such as these will come into their hands. Furthermore, when a wheel-turning king has not seen one of the seven precious jewels, he will search for it and go to the very place where the seven precious jewels are. Similarly, if one listens to sutras such as these, one will find it if one searches for where the benefit is shown. For example, where there is no wheel-turning king, there will arise kings of the borderlands, wheel-turners of power, and assemblies of petty kings. Similarly, where sutras such as these are not taught, those who show benefit will teach and expound other common things endowed with the chapter of emptiness. At that time, having seen and heard many such sutras, they will teach those beings, and having become accustomed to them, when they hear sutras such as these endowed with the essence of the Thus-Gone One, the self-nature of the Thus-Gone One, they will have doubt and hesitation, and their minds will be perverted.

After becoming, whether praising or not praising, whether happy or not happy, whether despising or not despising, whether disturbing or not disturbing, it will surely show benefit. Saying, "Is this something made by oneself? Or is this something done by the demon thinking to make the Dharma decline?" Saying and thinking like this, they turn away from them, and returning to their respective homelands, they mutually destroy the precepts and destroy the views. They will not obtain such sutras. Why is that? Because wherever benefit is shown, such sutras will appear. At that time, many, many sentient beings in this world, seeing and hearing, will slander the Mahayana, but do not be discouraged. Why is that? Because this time is the time of the five degenerations, this time is the time when the Dharma will decline, so many sentient beings will greatly slander the Mahayana. Just as in a village of seven households there is one jewel, so also where such sutras are widely practiced, one out of seven people will involuntarily abandon the true Dharma. Like this, those who have the same precepts, seeing those who have broken the precepts, become delighted and mutually destroy the precepts, therefore they become happy. So, what is having the same precepts? If one hears such a sutra and sees the teaching of the Dharma of those sutras, etc., they think like this, and then turn away, saying such words: For the realm of sentient beings, is the self-nature of the Tathagata mine permanent? Or what is the vast sutra that teaches that self-nature is permanent? Looking around, thinking, they will become people on my side, so they cherish each other, and gradually abide in self-nature in this way, making their self-nature and self-nature the same. For example, in the house of a Brahmin or the house of a householder, if some children enter into improper behavior, the parents will stop them and make them leave from there.

Wherever there is conduct that is contrary to the right path, once it cannot be prevented, he will come out of his own home. Having come out, he will associate with another child. Then, that child will take this child along and play, whether it is archery, playing musical instruments, or any game, he will do as he pleases. Then, at another time, he will also be happy, coming out of his own home, and having come out, he thinks, "We should say this and that," thinking, "Let's go to another place," such words are called "same discipline." Such people will not like such Sutras. They will not like to read such Sutras, show them to others, or have others study, abiding in such a way, studying in such a way. Why is that? Because in such times, sentient beings will become impoverished by the Dharma and become discouraged in their minds. Then, at that time, wherever there is conduct similar to a kalpa, they will thoroughly slander it. Lord Buddha, alas, a bad time is about to come. The Buddha said: Kashyapa, when such a time comes, how and in what nature should beneficial teachers act? For example, in a town, city, or on a major road of a market, there is a fertile field relying on it, full of rice fields, elephants, horses, beans that people can eat, and sugarcane. However, due to the hail falling, a major road appeared in the middle of it. Then, the family farmer there would arrange a guardian. Then, he guarded for one day and became tired and negligent. Then, similarly, the second, third, tenth, twentieth, and hundredth days are also the same. There, the last person thought, "If I prevent all these, I will not be able to guard the field, and the crops will not mature. What good method should I use to guard the field, and what method should I use for those who have begun to ruin the crops of the field?"
