持有我名字的这位比丘和另外两位将敲响大法鼓，不会有第三位。又说：光增，过去的时候，我曾是广严城中的国王，名叫喜悦。那时，广严城大到相当于四大部洲的面积。南赡部洲相当于娑婆世界的面积，同样，三千大千世界也应如此衡量。那时，我的寿命不可思议。我作为转轮王时，给予了无数的布施，积累了功德，守护了戒律，侍奉了圣者。无论男女，听到敲响大法鼓的经典后，哪怕只供养、装饰、敬奉一次，或者以任何方式生起一念善心，这种善心所积累的功德，我过去所做的所有功德都无法与之相比。例如，有一位明咒之王，名叫婆罗门光荣，如果念诵一次他的明咒，就能在四个月内免受一切仇恨的侵害。光增，你看，仅仅一个普通的明咒尚且有如此威力，那么念诵此经一次，直到生命终结都能免受一切障碍的侵害，又怎么会不可能呢？因此，无论谁供养此经，此人将成为一切众生无上正等觉的因，并且从现在直到证得菩提之间，都能获得此经。然后，所有眷属都说“好啊”，并异口同声地说道：唉呀，世尊，这位年轻人成为持有您名字的比丘后，当他去世的时候，住在财富之地的山洞里的神灵将失去庇护。这是为什么呢？因为，他将在您涅槃后前往南方，并在那里去世。佛说：不会的，我将亲自去那里显现自己。

This monk who bears my name and two others will beat the great Dharma drum; there will be no third. Again, he said: "Light Protector, in the past, I was a king named Joy in the great city of Vaishali. At that time, the great city of Vaishali was about the size of the four continents. Jambudvipa is about the size of the Sahā world, and similarly, the three thousand great thousands should be measured in the same way. At that time, my life was inconceivable. When I was a wheel-turning king, I gave countless gifts, accumulated merit, kept the precepts, and served the noble ones. Any man or woman who hears the sutra of the great drum being sounded, and who makes offerings, adorns, or reveres it even once, or who generates a single thought of faith in any way, the merit accumulated by that thought is such that all the merit I have done in the past cannot even compare to it. For example, there is a king of mantras named Brahmin Glory. If you recite his mantra once, you will be protected from all hatred for four months. Light Protector, look! If even an ordinary mantra has such power, why would it not be possible to recite this sutra once and be protected from all obstacles until the end of life? Therefore, whoever makes offerings to this sutra will become the cause of unsurpassed, perfect, and complete enlightenment for all sentient beings, and from now until the attainment of enlightenment, they will obtain this sutra." Then, all the retinue said, "Good!" and spoke in unison: "Alas, Bhagavan, when this young man becomes a monk bearing your name, when he passes away, the gods dwelling in the caves of the land of wealth will lose their protection. Why is that? Because he will go south after your nirvana and pass away there." The Buddha said, "No, I will go there myself and show myself."

It should be there, and only initially in that place should this sutra be urged. That is because, as long as this sutra has not reached his hand, he will generate a mind of regression. Or relying on the power of taming, we, a large group, should be in front of him, and if he does not see us, he will regress, and there he will also show his death. Or he will do as he pleases, and wherever he is tamed, he will die there. The Tathagata, my disciple, who has attained the joy of the ten bhumis, Kungawo, will also go there with great transformation. The son of Indra, named Manifest Offering, with a few years of age, has a superior intention towards the Mahayana, complete and unique, and among gods, humans, and non-gods, he will hold this Mahayana sutra. Therefore, indicating the cause of liberation, that itself is the prediction of his Buddhahood, and it is the prediction of a Bhikshu who establishes the Mahayana. He will become his disciple, and will hold his name. After that, such beings will appear and be five years old, and after that, the virtuous eye that shows benefit will become weak. They will go through seven periods, and during that time, apart from those noble Bodhisattvas, there will be no ordinary beings, whether male or female. Then, all those retinues spoke these verses in unison: Alas! Joy of Universal Vision of the World, The steadfast Bhikshu transforms his form, For a long time he will practice the teachings, And will strike the great Dharma drum. He will completely pass beyond sorrow, After that the world will be empty. After the speaker of the Dharma has passed away, No other like him will appear. Such a Bhikshu is difficult to find, Gradually the light will fade. Thus, he is in the south, The last one to appear.
