At that time, when the Protector Shakyamuni Buddha appears, you, the great king, the Licchavi youth, will be seen as joyful by all beings in the world. Then, in that world, after the Protector passes into complete nirvana, at the time when the teachings decline, when you are eighty years old, you will become a monk named Blo-chang (Wise Holder), and without even considering your own life, you will proclaim this sutra. Then, after dying a hundred years later, you will be reborn in the Sukhavati world. At that time, you will manifest many great miracles, and abide on the eighth bhumi. One body will remain in Sukhavati, and one body will be emanated, placed in Tushita, and you will ask the Protector Maitreya about this sutra, thus it was prophesied. Then, the king, the lord of the earth, hearing the prophecy of his son, said, "My son has been prophesied to be a Buddha!" All his senses were satisfied. Then, that youth, even more firmly kept his vows. Light-increaser asked: "Bhagavan, if from the great ocean, one reduces drop by drop, will there be an end?" The Bhagavan replied: "How is it?" Light-increaser said: "For example, some who live by arithmetic, count kahapanas, and hide them in a jar. Then, his son gives conch shells in due time. Then, he will feel that these conch shells are too few. Then, when all those are used up, just like that, a Bodhisattva Mahasattva, even reducing one drop of water from the great ocean, can truly know, and similarly, can truly know the remaining amount of water. Bhagavan, the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, cannot know the aggregates of beings to be exhausted, what need is there to say more? Bhagavan, the aggregates of beings are without end, and this is not known by the Shravakas and all Pratyekabuddhas, but only the Buddhas, the Bhagavat, know. The Bhagavan said: "Light-increaser, well done, well done! It is just so, there is no end to the aggregates of beings." He asked: "Bhagavan, those beings who have passed into complete nirvana,

Is there a decrease? Or is there no decrease? The Buddha said: Sentient beings are inexhaustible. Blessed One, what is it like that sentient beings do not decrease? The Buddha said: If there is exhaustion, then there is decrease. If there is increase, then the necessity of this sutra becomes great. Previously, this sutra spoke of three thousand verses, which were collected and correctly established. All of those should be fully understood. If there is nothing other than the correct establishment of the three thousand verses, then from that alone, for the extensive monks, whatever is asked by those with faithful minds, understand it well! Blessed One Buddha, whichever ones are completely liberated from suffering, all of those are permanent, stable, peaceful, and real. For what reason, Blessed One Buddha, are those who are completely liberated from suffering not subject to decrease? The Blessed One said: Just as houses or palaces are destroyed and ruined from time to time, like the changing of the sky, the protectors who are completely liberated from suffering, whichever ones they are, all of those will completely become liberation. For example, the meaning of the root of the word "sidhu" is transformed into the nature called "accomplishment" by the suffix "ta". Just as in worldly treatises, the accomplished word that is assembled by name, explanation, prefix, stem, suffix, and so on, is called accomplishment. Whatever the accomplishment of the accomplished word is, it is not hidden. Similarly, even if sentient beings pacify what is called affliction above and below and attain liberation, the existence of birth, aging, and death will not occur. Grammarians freely read the word called Siddha, and it also becomes called Vidhu, and again they gather words themselves and make it the nature of their own words. Why is that? Because that lineage is perfected, and in order to perfect the students, like this, the previous letters and rituals, whether correct or not, without knowing, after learning cutting and distinguishing, it is again called cutting and distinguishing. Similarly, the Tathagata, the Arhat, the perfectly enlightened one
