Lava, just as the Buddhas appear, so too should you understand that beings appear in the same way. World-Honored One, are there not also those who act and those who feel in the same way? The Buddha said: Light Protector, those who act and those who feel are the cause. Asked: World-Honored One, does this world have an end? Or does it not? The Buddha said: The world will never, in any way, at any time, be exhausted. Again, the Buddha said: Light Protector, I will show you an analogy. World-Honored One, what kind of analogy is it? The Buddha said: Light Protector, for example, if one were to take a drop from the inexhaustible ocean with the tip of a hair, would it become as large as an ox's hoofprint? Or would it not become that large? Asked: World-Honored One, it would become that large. The World-Honored One said: Light Protector, in the past, there were countless upon countless of eons, a vast and even vaster eon appeared. At that time, at that moment, a perfectly enlightened Buddha named Sgra Gcan (星宿) appeared in the world. Then, that World-Honored One, when teaching the Dharma in this great city, there was a Licchavi youth named All the World Rejoices to See, who became a king of Dharma, endowed with Dharma, a Chakravartin king. Then, that king went to the presence of that Tathagata, and with great wealth and surrounded by nagas, he made offerings to the World-Honored One together with his queen, and spoke these words: World-Honored One, when will I become a Bodhisattva? At that time, the World-Honored One said: Great King, whoever becomes a Chakravartin king will not become anything other than a Bodhisattva. Why is that? Because Ishvara and Brahma do not have Chakravartin kings, so they will not become anything else. Great King, whoever becomes a Upasaka, they will become Ishvara and Brahma. After making many kings of Ishvara and Brahma, after that, the king of Dharma, endowed with Dharma, will become a Chakravartin, you and Ishvara, Brahma, are as numerous as the sands of the Ganges.

After that, you will obtain the state of a Chakravartin. Then, that king again asked the Blessed One: "Blessed One, what are the nature of Ishvara and Brahma?" At that time, the Blessed One said: "All those who wear crowns, such as Ishvara and Brahma, who are like you, are not at all beautiful in your presence. For example, in front of the body of a Buddha, all the Shravakas, Pratyekabuddhas, and Bodhisattvas are not radiant, dull, or prominent. Similarly, great king, you should now understand that you should be like the color of the body of a Buddha. Light Protector, do you think it is necessary to seek the example of a Chakravartin from Brahma and Indra Kausika, the lord of this Saha world?" Light Protector, then, that Chakravartin, the lord of the four continents, again asked the Blessed One: "Blessed One, is it possible for me to become a Buddha in this world?" At that time, the Buddha, the Blessed One, said: "Son of good family, you will attain Buddhahood after a very, very long time. Why is that? Great king, if you abandon your own merit, completely give it up, and regard it as ordinary, then, if you scoop out this great ocean with the tip of a hair, making it only the size of a cow's hoofprint, then, a perfectly enlightened Buddha named Dipankara will appear in the world, and a king named King Lord of the Earth will appear there. At that time, the Blessed One Dipankara will prophesy that you, great king, will become a Shakya sage named Gautama in the future. At that time, a conflagration will occur in the world. If you start from now to make the great ocean the size of a cow's hoofprint, then, after countless hundreds of years, countless intermediate kalpas, countless kalpas, and after countless conflagrations, Buddhas will appear.

It will become like that, (he) will please those Buddhas, make offerings, and the great ocean will become only as big as an ox's hoofprint. How does the Light Protector Wheel-Turning King always dry up that great ocean with the tip of his hair? Like that, if some people want the extreme happiness of Indra, Brahma, and the Wheel-Turning King himself again and again, then the great ocean will dry up in this way. Then, those eons of burning will also end, and those Buddhas, the Bhagavat, will also completely pass into Nirvana, then, in a hundred paths, occasionally, there will appear a Buddha teacher named Dipankara, then the Bhagavat Dipankara, will say to the king, the lord of the earth: Great King, you will become a Buddha. At that time, Great King, you will become the young son of that king, and together with him you will receive the prophecy of becoming a Buddha. Then, the Tathagata will speak this verse, he will speak this verse: Great King, your son, after drying up the great ocean in that way, has now become your son, your son is not of the nature of an ordinary king, he is the Brahma, the lord of the Sahā world, or the king of the gods, Indra, or the Dharma King who possesses Dharma, he is a Wheel-Turning King. Your son will become a great diligent one, lord of the earth, like that, enlightenment is difficult to obtain, taking this as an example, this verse was spoken. Lord of the earth, this son of yours, has abandoned sixty thousand women with jewels, earrings, and bracelets, and women as charming as goddesses, like spittle dust. Alas! Desires are impermanent, therefore, those women as charming as goddesses, realize like spittle dust. Alas! Desires are not real, they are unstable, they are impermanent, therefore, it is easy for me to go forth from home to homelessness, like that he will go forth. Like that, the Tathagata, at what time to that young man, the world
